Thats what I said in the BEGINNING RIGHT? Thats its not a case of truth with you but that its a truth of you NOT WANTING to believe.

God selecting a group to spread the truth makes plenty of sense. Alot more than God selecting one person (like every other religion besides the one of the Hebrews) to hand out pertinent information to the world.

heres the other thing. i dont necessarily discount that some force created us, for 2 reasons:

1. we're so much smarter than every other animal
2. every society has some interpretation of this being and his rules

however, number 2 is also exactly why i wont give credit to any of these idiots' beliefs. they CANNOT all be true, and i refuse to believe that a select group possesses this sort of knowledge that the rest of us dont. they simple fact that christians and muslims cant both be right about jesus is clear evidence of this

Breh, religion is not about spirituality, it's about control. All the religions have the same basic tenets:

1. Respect God/Allah/The Great Spirit.....

2. Treat your brother as yourself.

3. Do right (don't kill, steal,....)

^^^then from here it deviates into various man made edicts (e.g. cover your head, pray to cows) that have nothing to do with the basic/original tenets of the faith. The same way intelligent design is evident in you physically, it's evident in you mentally as well. You know when something is right or wrong, when something is pure, when it's a good thing. I believe whoever designed the world also designed you with the ability to reason right from wrong, and to use your cotdamn brain. I am sure somewhere the "Designer" so to speak is listening to the story about the fire in the bush like "nikka I told you don't kill, not to disseminate folklore"

"God" in the way you are mentioning it doesn't have to abide by any order. At the same time, "God" gave me the reasoning abilities to decipher fact from fiction. "God" didn't tell me Enoch never died. Some Hebrew scribe did. So now I should use the reasoning faculties that "God" gave me and decide based on empirical evidence of the inevitability of death and decide whether or not I believe this historian or not. Personally, I think "God" if he did exist in your sense (meaning a being that created you for his glory and just to worship him) would find more fault with you not using something that obviously took him time to create, that being your conscience. "faith" is a construct of man, all your faculties are based on empirical results, the same faculties that were given to you by "God". Yet I'm supposed to believe a man who tells me to ignore my "God"-given ability to reason and blindly believe stories from an era where people believed lightning was created by a mythical being

Strong evidence for evolution through genetic science...strong evidence for the expansion of the universe through astronomy...you can observe this yourself with a decent telescope honestly. Anyone who disbelieves in something that obvious can have all the fairy tales they want.

Honesty, it's no different than someone going hallelujah when a doctor cures their summer cold they couldn't shake on their own. If he or she broke it down into details how he stopped the cold, does it make the cure any less viable? To God Be The Glory, but I don't want to know the details?
