So he killed his head of political advertising and his son, a photographer from the most pro-Erdogan newspaper in Turkey, and the brother of a presidential adviser too? You really think the AKP is comptetent enough to stage a country-wide coup and get away with it?

The real story is legit and the reason why the opposition parties were anti-coup. Gulenists *do* have influence in every single Turkish institution and they have been getting purged for the past 2 years. The military was up next and they tried to rush this coup before it was too late. You really think Kemalist CHP and HDP are also in on the staged coup?

I actually feel sorry for the coup participants in this case.

They overall restrained themselves from firing on crowds or being as oppressive as they can possibly be in an effort practice their constitutional right of removing the president who is slowly overstepping his bounds.



On the other hand, those same protestors you spared in a sense, are now beheading you and beating you in the street. They have no qualms about killing their countrymen.

In this case while there were incidents of soliders firing on citizens it wasn't the norm as far as I know and I've seen more soliders just firing their guns in the air at the most while being surrounded by Edrogan supporters. Otherwise the death toll would be much higher. It's obvious the curfew they enacted had no effect because in general the government supporters had no fear of breaking it because the military didn't exercise their power on a wide scale

Way more civlians were killed by soliders, than vice versa. Civilian death toll was around 150 last I checked, while most soldiers were killed in clashes with pro-government troops and police. I think the focus on the "mob" is in part a result of their political leanings. Ive seen tens of videos of police protecting soldiers from angry mobs as well.
