Post an Aye Verb battle that justifies all the hype he gets....

because I'm not seeing it...

I fell back on watching battle raps during the prime Mook, Lux, Jones, etc etc Smack DVDs. I just started checking battles out again more recently.

So I checked for this Aye Verb dude...and I see Arsonal...beat him....see Rex body bag him....and see Hitman beat him...see Math beat him

And he has the worst endings to rounds I ever heard in battle history

What am I missing?

to me he beat Arsonal and Hitman. Him vs Math is debatable. I still can't decide who won that

And your opinion is your opinion it's not like its written in stone

IMO he clearly beat Ars, beat math but its debatable and vs hitman not as close to me as it is to others. And Rex just had the benefit of a crowd that was rocking with that mediocre mix tape bullshyt he was spitting getting love for " u......tah!" Like it was hot verb beat him to me

Verb only clear loses IMO were to clips and X factor everything else is debatable or clear win

But verb one of the best lyrically out here the reason he gets the attention is because he a character that promotes himself well and you just don't know what he got hiding in the bag he go come out with and whether you love or hate him every battle he will say something every battle rap fan will appreciate.

I think verb is overrated but he's the only one who clearly beat hollow outside of fight club. His best performance to me. Everything after the clips battle has been really ehh to me tho other than the hitman battle. He is the only top tier name I can think of that got 3-0d twice clearly no debating(x factor/clips). He almost got 3-0d by Rex of all people. And he just doesn't bring his best shyt to NY. But he's starting to get it back now IMO, great performance vs Cortez, decent vs ars. He does end his rounds bad sometimes tho. Lol

This is all really subjective.

Verb is nice & I look forward to seeing him battle, however I will say he sounds so much better in a small room. His battles with SB, Midwest Miles, & Hollow are great. I even liked him in the Big Will battle. In a small room, he is damn near unbeatable. If you watch those battles I just named, you can see how he developed his hype. Mike Tyson still receives hype til this day for his early accomplishments. I'm not saying Verb is the Mike Tyson of battle rap, but illustrating why he receives the hype he gets.

On a stage it's completely different. He has been hit or miss to me. His performance definitely isn't the same.

You gotta understand that he is a professional battle rapper. He has experienced ups & downs in his career. Every single battle rapper has at one time. Your gonna see battles when they are just not on there game. You'll see them go on an incredible run as well.

I only question overhype because I don't see anyone placing him as the greatest. And I think him being in most people top 10 is a fair place to put him. It's hard to name 10 guys flat out better than him and not look like you just hating

-he has some of the sickest lines ever spit in battle rap
-did the "teach/preach/father to son" angle first (correct me if wrong)
-his style is very enjoyable to watch
