When I was teaching, one of the Assistant tech support guys and I were really cool. Any time he was in the building, he'd come to my classroom and if I wasn't busy we'd chop it up. He was a cool dude...

Anyway, he had really bad vision, like he wore glasses, but he'd have to hold his phone directly in front of his face, or look at the computer from like 3 inches away. I'd always joke with him about getting new glasses, and he'd laugh it off and say yeah man. So, fast forward a little ways, his mother dies. And since he was genuinely a good guy, everyone decided to take up money for him. This is when it came out how dude was living, fam was living off minimum wage, and paying child support. He lived in one of those homes, that you'd swear nobody lived in. After that came out, I'd always ask him to hang out, go get a beer or something after work, and I'd look out. So, one day I wanted to do something really nice for him, but I knew if I just tried to give him money he wouldn't take it. So, I went to the local optometrist and got him a coupon for a free eye exam, and glasses up to $300. Put it in an envelope, and dropped it off at the School Board Office for him in his box. This was around Christmas time, so when we came back, sure enough he'd taken it and gotten him 2 pairs of glasses with it.

Later that year, I was helping him set up the computers for SOL testing, and he told me thanks and like daped me up, and I was like "No problem", and he held my had and was like "No, really...thank you". To this day I don't know if he knew or not.

My muthafukkin self
Kinda the same but different, but im rolling with it cause its a good story, to me atleast.
:yeshrug:

My mom and dad used to go to the bars all the time and take me along. So they hit up this new bar, it ended up being a biker bar, but the beer was cheap and they got a booth in the corner and did there thing. I got me a bowl of maraschino cherries and 7up and did my thing on one of the claw machines. I was like 5 at the time, and spent like 10 dollars in quarters I saved up and after a while my parents had enough so I conned them outta another 10 in quarters. I was losing every single time and looking
:mjrdr:
Every time i didnt win. After about 2 hours of playing and being broke and depressed, this big ol biker, swole like a muthafukka walked up to the machine, put his two quarters in and won with ease.
I looked at him like :wtf: but inside I was :snoop:
He then walks up to the booth and my dad and mom is like :merchant: and in a rough raspy voice, "here you go, kid". He handed me a small grey rat, it looks like the grey one but more cartoonish face and bigger lower body. After that I remember playing with that stuffed animal all over the bar til we left. Had that stuffed animal til I was 18.

I guess the reason why it meant so much was cause the previous day we were at a bowling alley, I took my favorite bear with me and ended up losing him at the arcade.

Man too much to mention. I'm African so just know the day I hit 6 figures I was helping random people out when they were on the verge of homelessness and kids starving.

Also being a landlord in a hood area ive helped way too many women out of domestic violence situations.

I can't even think of the very nicest thing, too many tbh.

Helped a friend graduate this year.
She's in a dental hygienist program and needed volunteers so she could clean their teeth. She'd been posting about it on Facebook and wasn't getting replies. (There was a small free volunteers had to pay for the appointment, it being medical)

I hit her up. I had always had an admiration for her growing up (we've been schoolmates since grade 8 but I never thought she'd be into me). It would break my heart if she failed cause no one helped her. So I went in for an appointment and eventually got her two other clients later on, helping her friend graduate.

We got to catch up during the appointment and when she drove me back home she invited me out to the bar afterwards. She introduced me to one of her friends like "this is the guy I was telling you about". This was a few months ago...

And now it's cuffing season.

I don't think it counts as "nice" but I pay my sisters way.

About 3 years ago my mother passed away leaving me (21) and my younger sister (14) at the time. First thing I did after she passed was put my kid sister in a better school, settle the mortgage and all my mom's debt (mortgage, credit card, outstanding utilities). Been taking care of her since then. She's starting university next year and I'm fitting the bill for that too. She's a good kid and real smart do I'm positive she'll qualify for a bursary in her 2nd year. I want to convince her to get post grad qualifications too. I don't want her to not have opportunities because we don't have parents.

I see it more as responsibility than anything else. Just real happy when my mom was around she laid a solid foundation for her. My family also came up and have been invaluable.

Apart from that I volunteer at the burn unit at a hospital and I greased fingers to get my boy out of jail, he paid me back 2 hours after we picked him up outside the courtroom which I wasn't expecting.

Okay, first of all sorry to hear about your moms... but how does this work? I understand the mortgage and utilities needing to be paid since the house will still be used, but what would have been the consequence of leaving your mother's credit card unpaid?

Thanks breh :salute:.

My sister and I inherited her estate and with it her debts. So when she died her debt became ours, it being our debt meant that if we did not pay the debt we'd face negative credit records.
