That is exactly what I said. Reread the message because they feel something is missing and thats why they're wishing to be back when. That and lots of romanticizing online, media distortion and straight up fabrication in the mix.

In terms of the cost of living you could go back and be Richie Cunningham with a big house, nice car, wife not working with just you doing a 9-5 shift. That is if you could avoid getting lynched but you get my point. I don't think their problem is the money. Its the fact that everything now is mediated via screens and they have to compete globally whereas we were just interested in being the top shotta on the block and lived life directly, dangerously and freely.

Kids now come up with big screen HD in each room, PS10s and all kinds of ish whereas we had broken down TVs that showed cartoons in our living room and a handful of channels along with a shaky bootleg VHS you watched again and again as you waited to dub a single off the radio with your fingers set to time it perfect.

It was the best of times, it was the blurst of times.

Nobody was getting lynched in the 90s.:dahell: If you want to go that route, I can bring up what looks like lynching of this time period. A few black men were found hanging on a tree not too long ago. On top of that, dudes are still getting shot by the police, so the era really don't matter.

The problem IS money. Everything is now unaffordable and out of reach for a lot of the middle class. How do you not know this? Where have you been the past 10 years?

Enjoy your thread, I'm out as I refuse to accept you aren't being obtuse on purpose.

It really depends. Life now is better than the 90s if you make more than 6 figures

If you're broke then nah 90s was a better life for you

And most folks ain't making 6 figures.:skip:

The median household income for black folks is like $55k.

@Complexion
Yeah times are definitely better

You could just find a pay phone :mjlol:

Do they even have those anymore?
LOL...going from a cell phone to a pay phone. and again this is mainly for people that weren't around in the 90s. And probably those of us that are :flabbynsick:. You crazy is you think people trade off the convenience of having a computer in their pocket for "the 90s aura" or whatever. lmao

You brought up lynching and I just told you a few black men were hung from trees not too long ago. And what about the black men that's been shot by the police in recent years. :childplease:

What about the Charleston church shooting where 9 black folks died?

How is life better today than in the 1990s?

While overall crime is down, economic mobility is probably worse than ever.

Healthcare costs more than ever.
Housing costs more than ever.
Food costs refuse to come down.

Even dating is a shyt show with social media and inflated sense of self.

Exactly how is your life better now?

That's why i said 90s-2003. Cellphones was out then.:yeshrug:

But i get what you mean. Smartphones are literally heroine to a lot of these folks. But then be wondering why mental illness is rampant.

Money and tech are the only things better now than by then

Niccas don’t understand and can’t comprehend the concept of gas prices like this

85 - $.84
87 - $.89
91 - $.94

i'd go back...i enjoyed the concept of when you're out, you're out - you're not distracted by calls, texts, SM etc. i enjoyed hanging with friends when everything wasn't a photo shoot - like how many fukking times i gotta go to dinner with a group and do a fake toast just for some dumbass to make a boomerang? one of my best friends had her wedding plastered to facebook before she and the groom could even post...shyt like that is corny. tech has also put too much in front of people, it has led to more divisions in society, i'm cool. the 90's/early 00's were straight, we had enough tech to be modern but hadn't jumped the shark. and of course fiscally, life was better for most the country. and entertainment was :ohlawd:

if i went back it would be 2000-2010. that was the sweet spot to me. but i think people are underestimating how good we have it with technology compared to the 90s.

If there's one thing I could take back in time is the tech.

Having a powerful computer in my pocket in the 90s...I'd be lex Luthor and shyt
