Thread title is still dead wrong - prevalence of HSV-1 is around 48% HSV-2 around 12%. You can get HSV-1 genital symptoms, but it is much less common to transmit HSV-2 from genital to oral. On top of that, having HSV-2 can increase risk of contracting HIV or passing HIV.
Whatever way you want to spin it, NOT “practically everyone” has herpes, and having HSV-2 is far from normal or harmless.
