No doubt. I agree wholeheartedly it's just that a battle rap career can only last so long just like at most times an actual rap career can only last so long. Right now he's Vince Carter on the Hawks not Vince Carter on the Raptors as far as battling goes. He had a stellar battle career. Why ruin that and paint a different image in everyone eyes and for the younger ones coming up who heard how great he was in a battle?

this battle was cringe status all the way around from cass to ar. sure there were like 10 lines in total that were decent thats about it.
the problem with the forced new era battle rap is that it can only be so good if the two people dont know each other for real. you need to know one another to really get at one another. otherwise you're just talking about how great you are, and how bad all mcees are or how much money/chicks you have/cars you drive vs the other man. oh and how many guns you bust. all lame if you dont really know the other person standing across from you. the only battles that are decent to good in this new era battling are when its dudes who have been on the scene for awhile and they know each other and everyone knows the rumors and the truth on both sides. so both sides can play with that head knowledge. AR and other rappers battling cass with make believe information just to say a hot line. its a hot line with zero substance meaning it can only be so hot. it doesnt really hit because you know it aint true. cass getting at these dudes about how much better he is then them. thats find if you're clever enough but we've seen way too much battling to have missed an "I'm better than you..." line. we've seen it and heard it all before. no fault of cass' its just the truth. so the battle was over before it began.
