"Progressives" dont obsess over culture war shyt. Bernie is a progressive. AOC is a progressive, mamdani is a progressive. Their focus is on universal programs everyone can access, but will largely help people who need them the most. E.g. school lunches, Medicare for all, audits on the military and redirecting the money they're wasting on veterans benefits etc.
The culture war shyt is what democrats talk about when they don't want to go after the real forces making people's lives miserable: big capital.
A single mom didn't raise interest rates, an unelected banker running the federal reserve did.
A kid didn't shoot up a school because someone called him a misogynist he did that shyt because he was exposed to social media algorithms that radicalized him and a criminal justice system focused on arrest quotas and targeting black men more than actual police work.
MFs arent struggling to make rent because someone wants to dress in drag, it's because of corporate landlords, gentrification, and weak- non existent laws around preventing frivolous evictions.
The popularity follows the policy. Donald Trump had clear policy goals that every white moron in America could understand "he'll build a wall, deport the illegals, ban gay people and trans people from the military, ban hormones for children, ban Muslims, ban abortion" and guess what? He actually tried to do that shyt and that's why he has loyal supporters.
Democrats don't want to upset their masters(the banks and tech sector) so they'll talk about literally anything but checking these people with taxes, nationalizing them(e.g. nationalizing boeing and spaceX) or raising the minimum wage. There are popular policies their base is desperate for them to put into place but they think talking about pronouns or some shyt will be enough to satisfy people. Even the transgender people and feminists just want to have enough money to afford medical care and a place to live before they care about being oppressed with mean words. The only ones who harp on all that shyt already have their material needs met. They're usually whites with money but need to feel like an activist in some way.
Democrats miss the days they could scapegoat and browbeat black men.
