progressive proposals such as free college and trade schools, living wages, affordable housing, medicare for all, prison reform, work-life balance, paternity leave, funding for community centers and other community resources speak to the root of a lot of issues that effect men/boys. progressive never got the power to implement them enmass.

Both Obama and Michelle are struggling with the slice of life podcast world and have very little of interest to say. As with many celebrities it's obvious they've been told they need to do or say certain things to come off as relatable to audiences. And their idea of relatable boils down to highlighting weird or off putting failures or disappointments in their lives. I really don't get why they're doing this or how it benefits them. I haven't talked to my parents yet but I'd imagine they don't find this interesting (and they love the Obamas).

It's like that booth thread about when 80s rappers started making street tracks in the early 90s and sounding like clowns. This new strain of identity politics does NOT sound good coming from them. I saw a clip of Michelle talking about how her father (who had MS, btw) would come home from work, sit in a chair and put his feet up for the rest of the evening. And she felt that was a good example of gender dynamics because he expected his wife to cook dinner. I can't be the only person who is stunned by this. Her father, who had MS and was in constant pain at work, wanted to rest when he got home and for some reason THAT is your example of patriarchy? Get the fukk out of my face with that shyt. That doesn't sound logical to any person who would likely listen to this podcast, ie older liberals. It's madness and I genuinely think both Michelle and Obama are surrounded by cultural aides who coach them on the latest social justice lingo. Like a 40 year old rapper talking about pushing p.

Progressives, yes, but Kamala barely said anything about ANY of this.

And on medicare, she was shifty: https://www.cnn.com/2024/08/14/politics/kamala-harris-medicare-for-all

Pastor Manning is a lunatic clown, but he was spot on when he called Barry “a long-legged mack daddy.” The most disappointing black historical figure I can think of.
How is he disappointing?

Foh man. Dems are getting 75-90% of the black male vote the last 5 elections. We are not that male group swinging elections in opposite directions. The entitlement is ridiculous :mjlol:

You're not listening to what bruh said. He's right that Trump only won several states by thin margins (80K here, 100K there, 30K there).

We didn't need Hispanics and Whites. If Black men voted for Kamala at 90% levels instead of the 78% level we did, she's President :manny:

Going all in on gays and women was stupid because a large percentage of women will always vote in line with their husband.

When you lose the husband you lose those women by default.
I never understood this because who did? It was a lot of fear mongering from republicans, but I never saw no dems doing this. Their constituents? Yes. But no adds targeting me as a woman or LGTBBQ for that matter. Maybe I haven’t been watching.

Why do I have this feeling that within the next ten years, the Obamas are going to be looked at the same way the Smith family is? I'm not saying anything will come out, but the shift has been going on for a couple years now. I remember back in 2020, I was in a Zoom class and one of my classmates (a black girl) was talking about her disappointment in Obama. Then there was that time he put a song on his playlist and the artist of that song called him a war criminal on Twitter, so he removed it.

I'd hate for it to happen to them, especially considering who we've had in office for the last eight years, but it's not going to surprise me if it does.

Blaming progressives is hilarious work by Obama. His statement is true but he's pointing fingers at the wrong direction.

This "just vote harder" talking point is very tired and only used as an excuse to put a black agenda on the backburner, whether or not Dems win the White House rather than actually address the turnout issue. Black turnout is already the highest behind whites, but we are expected to go above and beyond in states like WI/MI/PA where the black (ADOS/FBA) population is declining or stagnant while white/Hispanic gains. The same swing states which still had higher turnout in 2024 overall compared to 2020.

At what point do we blame the GOP's much stronger ground game in suburban/rural America, Elon spending almost 300 million on unethical election propoganda, and a Top-Down DNC disaster in 2024?

But I get it. Blame NC and GA because they didn't pull another once every 30-years flip for the Democrats. Every single black person in Nevada and Arizona should have camped out at the voting booth too.
