Who said it's law? We are freaking out because this came from the President Elect of the United States. This is not some random guy sitting at a bar talking shyt or a white dude pretending to be black sitting in his mom's basement trolling HL. The President elect has been talking about various violations of the first amendment for months. shyt ain't a game.Between the fact that he will be President in a few months and all these blue lives matters laws lately, this has a possibility of becoming a law. No President in recent history has acted this way, but that doesn't change the very nature of the American political process. This is not a dictatorship, and it's sure a hell not run by tweets, no matter how attractive that would be to the outrage machine. If you think that this Trump tweet has made flag burning any more of a citizenship revokable offense, please sit down. He's doing this on purpose. And y'all keep falling for it. The only people treating Trump's tweets with the utmost gravity are those stuck inside the bubble. And the bubble is now irrelevant.

That 2001-2004 national bipartisan "patriotism" was some bullshyt. I remember that time well. People were willing to have cameras on every corner and were afraid to be called unpatriotic more than being called a rapist. If they had stayed out of Iraq, Bush probably would have left office with decent approval ratings even with the 2008 recession.

You're applying outdated traits to the office of the Presidency. Trump has irrevocably changed the nature of the office.

I would be more disappointed if he was actually sitting back and firing off these tweets as they come to him, but it's become increasingly obvious that they're a part of his media strategy. These aren't random, they're planned to generate outrage and further alienate the liberal bubble from the rest of the nation. We just had 12 months of ads saying "Presidents don't act like this!" and guess what? The electoral results disagreed!

You're right its not a dictatorship but you're also ignroign the bigger picture. The biggest point that can't be ignored is observing the actions and words of a man who has been chosen (by technicality) to lead a nation that's already divided, already looking for solutions and guidance, and many that hope that he won't be what ppl feared he'd be during the primaries and actually do good work by showing positive attributes of a leader.

We know there's checks and balances that would stop Trump if he did what he says but would Trump supporters reserve outrage if Obama ran on twitter bragging about overriding constitutional traditions and laws? Its even more upsetting because Trump's attitude and rhetoric is attempted to be normalized by supporters like you where we are encouraged to shrug off anything he says that outrages and offends people because by being offended by the dumb shyt he says WE are "in a bubble".

Is he a leader or a troll. No one should normalize a trollish behavior for presidency regardless of what you think.
