One of the most half hearted disingenuous commentary on police brutality and racial injustice in hip hop history, :scust:

shyt is disgusting really. Nothing is more eye-roll inducing in hip-hop than the fact if some fakkit talks about "conscious" shyt that automatically makes him a better artist or something. Corny as fukk by Drake, but it shows how pressured artists feel to have to drop something conscious just because.

Pusha did the same thing with Sunshine but that track actually sounded genuine but still. I don't give a fukk if the content of a dude's song is really just one giant metaphor about jerking off, if it sounds good, it's good music.

Kendrick isn't bad by any means. I hate on him a lot but it's not that serious. I just personally find a lot of his music boring and pandering to the psuedo-intellectual crowd.

People constantly act like fatherless children needing validation for an artist being good.

Bu-bu-bu-bu the president said he's good!

Bu-bu-bu-bu he namedrops a couple kids that got killed to let you know he is revolutionary!

I don't need some gremlin-voiced midget to let me know about social commentary that we're already bombarded with on a daily basis from the news, and I especially don't need it from some fakkit who prolly isn't even educated.

I'll listen to Freddie Gibbs any day over that little ewok and I can safely say his stans have made me despise Kendrick more than anything he could've done as an artist

the most impressive thing about kendrick is how he can make music that appear to be flawless to a lot of musicians, it's like the dude understands music.

Kendrick is progressing into that iconic music lane. He really is transcending the genre. This guy could probably make better funk music than george clinton himself

das exposal :wow:

duckworths are the most desperate in the game. This was already known but now the numbers back it up :banderas:

Remember, if you want a classic in this era all you have to do is have some producers make a bunch of knock-off Pete Rock/J. Dilla/Slum Village type soundscapes, babble about contemporary social issues, and deliver your bars in a nasally try-hard gremlin voice and you'll be considered a goat in no time at all.

tbh Drake really has nothing on Kendrick, Kendrick is basically a much better rapper & artist in almost every aspect.

all Drake really can do is go personal or make singles and honestly, Kendrick has mastered that personal thing a lot more.

As far as singing, Kendrick isn't a singer. But he does have a knack for great melodies and hooks.

But Kendrick is obviously the more complete and versatile artist. Each album is basically an audio film complete with characters and a plot and accomplishes a different goal than the last. You think Drake could successfully pull off a Jazz/Funk oriented album? No. But Kendrick can and has also helped to boost jazz music last year. Drake has yet to make a single full fledged concept album. Kendrick has 3, each with an entirely different sound than the last.

When it comes to actual rapping/lyrical technique, Drake loses. BADLY

Kendrick, like I said before, can flip from a spoken word/poetry style to an aggressive rapping style, to the space age alien shyt etc. and does it all effectively.

Honestly, the only thing Drake has over Kendrick is Pop joints and Club/radio and that's because Kendrick doesn't focus on that. But we saw he was capable of it on GKMC.

Kendrick is better than Drake at personal songs, lyrical songs, storytelling and he's successfully pulled off R&B records like These Walls and Poetic Justice. Yea, Drake was on Poetic Justice but it was just a verse. Kendrick completely did everything else and it worked. And honestly, that's one of Drake's least memorable verses.

Kendrick has done more genre's than Drake, tried more rapping styles than Drake and has succeeded in Drake's lane as a mainstream artist making hits. He's more complete than Drake.

Oh and let's not forget, Kendrick is doing all his own writing. Even most of his hooks come from him. Drake got Hush, Kenza Samir, Quentin Miller, Nickleus F, Majid Jordan, Makonnen and probably other nikkas on payroll writing for him

you're either a troll or you're not educated on the subject... or you really have a poor musical knowledge. The reason every musician is praising the composition of tpab on some goat level is because it really is that amazing.

I could talk about it for hours but I have that feeling you have 0 knowledge on jazz & funk.

like martin connor said, tpab is without a doubt the best produced album in hip hop history, its not even an opinion, its an actual fact.

really, tpab isn't just kendrick working with some of the best musicians in the game, he clearly understands what are them bebop scales or altered scales, syncopation and polyrhythms. Kendrick definitely is a musician.
