It doesn't demerit him but it separates him into a different category. He spends alot of time singing on records just as much as rapping. You can call him a rapper per se but he ain't of traditional orgins and he relies heavily on ghostwriters (assuming all of the rumors are true and most of it hasn't been blown outta proportion)
