Presidential co-signs.
Keys to his hometown.
Critically acclaimed albums.

Brehs witnessing history and tryna down play it.
I wonder if it was like this when illmatic/reasonable doubt/ready to die/me against the world dropped.
Or in an R&B sense when Songs In The Key Of Life/What's Going On/Purple Rain/ Off the Wall dropped.
you getting a pres co-sign cause the pres is actually half black. that has never happened before. if it did. wow. that would be a tough one for the pres to cosign even a nas. because things he was talking about wasnt savory most of the time. he can cosign him now cause he's on his grown man ish. same with a jayz co sign.

imagine a pres cosignin cube in his prime. couldnt do it. even if he felt him behind closed doors. he probably would've cosigned PE but couldnt do that either TOO BLACK for em.

but to the recognition of greatness. yes we recognized R&B greatness as well as hiphop greatness. there was no huuge argument about some guy that doenst write half of his raps and doesnt really rap about much at all. because a guy like that would never be a huuge success unless everyone knew "oh he's just a great entertainer" and never called him/her a great rapper like say...Hammer. loved the dude. but he never thought of himself as some lyricists. but drake does. he woudl've never been on a sprite billboard with other great lyricists. but drake is. you get my point. the game done flipped bruh.

Kendrick just can't lose

what I found on another forum :ohhh:

longform-original-22214-1422911594-3.jpg

So TPAB:

-the consensus AOTY according to the critics, its also #1 on 90% of the end year lists.
Best of 2015: Music Critic Top Ten Lists
-the highest rated hip hop album of all time on Metacritic.
-the reason kendrick has the most nominations in one night at the grammy (since Michael Jackson in 84).
-has 2 songs being played in protests, one of them is named the new black anthem.
-being taught at some universities.
-had a scholarship in its name.
-influenced some goat artists like David Bowie, Prince and Chuck D, all in the same year.
-the highest rated album of the decade in any genre on multiple platforms like RYM that only take people's rankings into account.

-had RollingStone Magazine calling Sway in the morning to say TPAB better be #1 on every end year list because it's the most ambitious album of the year, musically.
-is probably one of the most respected rap album by modern jazz musicians.
-contains Barack Obama's favorite song of the year.
-and I don't mention the 100000 artists praising its musical composition

#Legendary

I know about Bowie's team changing direction after having heard TPAB
but how did Kendrick influence Chuck D and Prince ? I've only heard Hit N'Run Phase One
from last year so it might be more apparent if I finally get around to part two but I'm curious
does the poster who made this post have any sources for those two claims ?

I wouldn't be crying, I'd probably be :scust: @ That president's taste but that's about it.
And unlike other Coli posters, I try to avoid the anti-semitism.

it's well deserved, its one of the best composed albums of the past 6-7 years... I heard the guy who made all the jazz on it was kamasi washington, the same dude who just dropped the most celebrated jazz album of the decade. And it's crazy when you think about it cuz kamasi himself said his best instrumental & saxo work was on TPAB :wow:
Kamasi Washington.
Terrace Martin.
Robert Glasper.
Thundercat.
Ambrose Akinmusire.

:wow:
TPAB is oozing with BLACK musical excellence.
:blessed:

I mean, it might've been a dope album if it was straight Hip-Hop but once they
dipped into the ideas black musicians have helped to pioneer over the past 100 years.

:wow: shyt was over at that point :wow:

yeah he posted some of those... prince said it on the radio, same for public enemy

but chuck d talked about it in another interview: Chuck D Says Public Enemy's New Album Was Inspired By Kendrick Lamar & Run The Jewels

on the radio chuck d said the entire content of their album was inspired by kdot & rtj

Yet he;s still not running the community. Still not the voice of the people.
He's just a safe negro whom massa feels comfortable promoting
