President of Morehouse College removed from post. What do you expect Trump to do with HBCU's?

I wanna saw Tech and G State are somewhere in the mid 20s and the instate HBCUs are probably in the low 20s or right at 20. It's tough trying to scrap up 40k in scholarship and grants each year.

A good number of blacks at Tech have scholarships so I'm not sure how much their tuition each year rounds too

But GA State tuition is less than 20,000 a year. You can graduate from there only 25-50K in the hole.

It was a three part plan.

1) Part one was to give HBCU's a extra 2.5 billion dollars a year for 10 years. Better ones would've gotten more.

2) Part two was to limit people who attend HBCU's debt burdens to a max of 10 percent of their incomes.

3) Part 3 was to make high GPA students who make under 125000 attend HBCU's for free.

That's actually a really good plan :ohhh:

I think Trump will help HBCU's, if not for just pr reasons.
Cant do any less than Obama did

He is they announced it awhile back. Another move intended to get nikkas back to believin in the white man.

Obama increased federal funding to HBCUs, most of the mush-mouth jagaloons on this site seem to lack the ability to read, so they don't know this.
Trump is "saying" he's going to help.
He's not going to do shyt, and may aid in stripping them of federal funding.

I respect tradition and all, but Morehouse is not worth $40k per year.

I bet the debt load most of those brehs carry is crazy, considering a lot do professional school afterward. :whew:
I feel the same.

I have alot of opinions about the price of college in general, but mainly how the AUC tries to finesse more $$ out of the students when its hard enough to go there:ld:

I'll rep it proudly when im done but i honestly dont know what can be done about private HBCU's...You have brehs saying they cant afford the loans for a state school for 4-5 years.

If they're trippen about 40k in debt after graduation for an in-state public school, how do you think they feel about 120-160k in loans at CAU/Morehouse/Spelman? It's wild:wow:

And typically, due to the liberal arts focus of those institutions, most of the students will have to go to professional school afterward, which means even more debt.

A lot of AUC brehs are carrying crazy debt in their late-20s and early-30s.

But, somehow, they still manage to show up at homecoming and stunt! :takedat:

Don't honestly think it would've ever happened, considering the money would've involved Congressional oversight. That was Hillary shooting for the stars in an effort to get black votes.

Beyond that, let's be real, 125k isn't a lot of money for a two income household with college aged kids, especially in metro areas. I'd guess the vast majority of people that are paying for their kid's tuition at Morehouse/Spelman/Howard/Hampton make more than that.

Bigger problem is the long term viability problems these schools are facing. Whether the can got kicked 5-10 years down the road, it's still something that needs to be addressed. For Morehouse in particular, I think that there needs to be less focus on fostering a family environment, and more on mirroring the data driven, business approaches to efficiency present at PWIs.

I honestly think Morehouse (& other schools in the AUC) dropped the ball by not investing in their local community (West End) in order to make it safer, more attractive, and perhaps even become another stream of revenue for them. That, along with no real effort to modernize facilities leads me to believe that for too long Morehouse has been content living off of its reputation.

It's starting to reach a critical point in history for Morehouse...what do you care more about? Long term solvency or reputation? Everyone to date they've trotted out as president has been more interested in the latter...

That's true. AUC could have scooped up a lot of property in the West End and managed the rentals via an external agency.

That takes leadership with vision.

Like you said, they just want to live off reputation alone.
