Welcome everybody to the Official TOP 20 Fights of Floyd Mayweather Jr. This is purely my opinion, I hope to keep things fun, light-hearted, and purely positive. I will be doing a lot more of these with other retired fighters (hopefully, if you guys like this) and I hope to introduce legendary fighters to new fans and remind current fans as to why they are indeed legendary. All videos will be in spoiler tags to help with loading times, so no worries

So, let's get started...

20. 43(26)-0-0... vs. Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero 31(18)-1-1
May 4th, 2013

MayweatherVsGuerrero.png
Floyd Mayweather was out on bail, fresh outta jail $300 mill' dreamin'. Floyd was the defending WBC Welterweight (147) champion but while incarcerated the WBC crowned an interim champion, Robert Guerrero. This was the beginning of the exclusive Showtime deal and the return of Floyd Mayweather Sr. in Jr.'s corner as 2nd chief. This was also the beginning of All Access, a show inspired from Floyd's journey back to the top from legal trouble, a change in network, and failed friendship (anyone remember TMT promotions?). The Ghost was a top 5 Welterweight and hadn't tasted defeat since early on in his career. More importantly, he held a portion of the title from the sanctioning body Floyd coveted the most, the WBC.

19. 42(26)-0-0... vs. Miguel Angel Cotto 37(30)2-0
May 5th, 2012
Mayweather_vs._Cotto.JPG
This was the 2nd fight at Super Welterweight (154) for Mayweather as he looked to capture another title against defending WBA champion, Miguel Cotto. Cotto, on a 3-fight win streak, had just exacted revenge against his foe, Antonio Margarito, and was looked upon as one of the top fighters in the world under his new trainer, Pedro Diaz. This was a fight that could've happened at 140 but a then inexperienced Cotto opted not to. This would also be Mayweather's final fight under the HBO banner. Roger Mayweather as 2nd chief would also come to an end following this bout.

18. 15(13)-0-0 vs... Gustavo Fabian Cuello 20(11)-7(1)-0
April 18th, 1998

Up to this point, Floyd had fought the bottom of the barrel of competition, but this is expected as a rising contender. This was, in my opinion, his first true test as his opponent was the first to take Floyd to deep waters and attempt to win all night. Floyd's performance so young in his career was outstanding and truly looked like championship caliber. Finally he faced a fighter that was going to be there for the entire night and he handled it with excellent poise, skill, and athleticism. He looked every bit of the phenom that he would become.

Hilarious flop at the end of the 3rd...

17. 34(23)-0-0 vs... "The Little Big Man" Sharmba Mitchell 56(30)-4(4)-0
November 19th, 2005

676.jpg
This was the 1st bout at Welterweight for Floyd. Sharmba was in the post-knee injury era yet was still racking up dominating wins against good competition, though he lost handily in the Tszyu rematch before this bout. Critics complained about this match-up, though not a word was said about other 140lb fighters refusing to step into the ring with Mayweather or were simply unavailable. This would be a permanent jump up in weight as bigger money opportunities revealed themselves with much less red tape. YouTube comments claim that Emmanuel Steward picked Mitchell to win this bout, not sure if it's true or not. One thing that's for sure, Floyd was on a mission this night...

16. 30(20)-0-0 vs... Phillip "Time Bomb" Ndou 31(30)-1(1)-0
November 1st, 2003

mayweatherndou.jpg
Floyd was the reigning, defending WBC lightweight champion of the world. Ndou was a power punching South African fighter that spent the majority of his career fighting overseas. Floyd's previous performance against Victoriano Sosa left many people with a bad taste in their mouth. Floyd decided he'd go all out in this match-up against Ndou who sacrificed defense for punching output. This was Floyd's final fight at Lightweight and his hometown. Do you see a pattern of the Pretty Boy era fighter always having to prove himself?...

One of the nastiest combination endings I've ever seen in a fight

Highlights
Ndou wants a Re-WHAT?! LOL

The NDOU fight though was a brutal war; he brought the fight to floyd like very few did touched Mayweather chin a few times and Floyd literally tried to kill that boy for that.....:wow:

15. 47(26)-0-0 vs... Manny "Pac-man" Pacquiao 57(38)-5(3)-0
May 2nd, 2015

Mayweather_Pacquiao_Official_Poster.jpg
Here it is, the long awaited, highly anticipated match-up of a lifetime. This match was damn near a decade in the making and seemed to take that long to negotiate. Mayweather was the undisputed champion while Manny was swinging his way back up the P4P rankings after a devastating KO loss to Juan Manuel Marquez years prior to this match. Did expectations, hype, and a controversial injury ruin this mythical match-up? I'd say it did not, however, it may have hindered its chances to be talked about as the all time greatest fight of either man's career.
