There's an argument for Reed in that he(and other elite safeties) can't be schemed out of the game like Deion(or other CBs) could. If I'm playing a more patient defense than I'm going Deion but if I'm looking for aggression and playmaking I'm probably taking Reed

I don't think you can go wrong with either, I was too young to see Prime's heyday but he was a star

Ed Reed is personally one of my fav players of all time tho so I'm going with him

Prime can shut down a receiver but it's a simple read for QBs. Basically look at any receiver not covered by him.

With Ed, QBs have to be aware which side Ed is leveraging, if he's playing high or cheating to come down low. QBs have to hold the ball a little longer. Plus Ed plays the run.

I would take Ed.

If I’m starting a team from ground zero, I’d want Reed; if I’m looking to take my team to the next level, I’m taking Prime.
I like this post.

My thinking is probably different than yours, but I would look at it in terms of team culture and leadership. Ed Reed sets a tone and a standard and I think he’d encourage and demand teammates to rise to that.

It’s not that I think Deion was a bad teammate. I just think he’s an elite individual piece where his impact is still great on the field, but different in the locker room. Keeping in mind that Deion may be perceived differently now that he’s a coach. I don’t think he had the same connection to others during most of his playing days.
