What if stopping him from taking shots close to the rim poses difficulty for a team regardless?

It does but its a one dimensional defensive schematic. Defending Kobe literally requires you to swarm him with 2/3/4 defenders i.e. 04 Pistons and 08 Celtics.

What do you mean volume?

They both average 19 shots per game.
And they both average 4 three-pointers per game.

They both average the same number of the same types of shots per game.

Kobe has shot 2000 more 3 pointers and the percentage gap is negligible :mindblown:

Dog...if you can't stop a dimension, why act as if the same attention wouldn't be asked of a defense? Especially when that one dimension scores with more efficiency? :wtf:

Amazing how you're attempting to make some swarming attention from a defense a Kobe only thing.

Kobe has shot 1,563 more than Lebron.
And he's played 403 more games.

You really arguing that Kobe shoots more because ...holy fukking shyt...he's been around longer and thereby has played more?

You realize you can't compare volume with two guys with a significant gap in playing time. The numbers are useless at that point.
If you're going to argue that the eventual decline in Lebron's game puts all of Kobe's numbers significantly ahead...then at least post the numbers based on Kobe's first 842 games so that it coincides.

You're cooking the numbers to suit yourself.

um? They do not take the same type of shots. Do you people ever actually watch Lebron play? This is no knock against him, I actually think he's smart in this regard, but the guy will NOT shoot unless he's wide open, can get open, or can drive to the basket. He's not the type of player to try to take a shot of any type of difficulty, he prefers easy transition layups, open midrange jumpers, open threes, etc. If he cant find one he'll pass around and wait until he is open. He does not try to forcefully take over games like Kobe can and when he does, like he did in the finals this year, he cannot maintain for the game as he wears out.

Lebron takes high percentage shots, which is why he shoots a high percentage. he is not a better shooter than kobe, he's not a better scorer than Kobe, but he is a better opportunist than Kobe and he finds holes quicker than Kobe(as he is also quicker/stronger which allows him to exploit the defense a lot easier).

What it means is that the "one" dimension thing you're bringing up draws just as much attention while being more efficient

So now Lebron shoots when he's wide open? The best player in the game gets left wide open enough to drop 28 points per game?

:skip:

Yall are just fukkin with me now.

:salute:

the fukk? i did not say that brah. I said he takes higher percentage shots than Kobe, finds more openings and generally does not force shots in anyway.

And I'd love to know how many easy points he gets in transition EVERY GAME because I know he's the one finishing all those fast breaks. You dont think that shyt piles up in terms of % points?

:heh:

Whatever works for you bruh. You're the one crafting some narrative around swarming defenses needed to stop Kobe as if Bron doesn't require the same attention while being the more dangerous passer
