Breh, all that pseudo intellectual sh!t ain't even fvcking with Darkman in his prime. At one point he was one of the TOP artists in the WORLD. And I don't even mean just in the hip hop genre. And on top of that he had basically all the things that an MC should have: lyrical ability, storytelling ability, great voice, charisma, stage presence was lit, broads loved him, streets loved him, he had charisma...he was a total package. And I NEVER met anyone personally who don't fvck with prime DMX. I will go as far as saying that if a n!gga ever came up to me and told me that he don't like X, I will know he's a homosexual.

Lupe, AT HIS BEST, never reached the level of this:

Only a nerd would choose Lupe over DMX.

Preach:boss:

Lol complexity may be lupes strenght, but its not the only thing that makes him a great mc. Yall muSt of forgot Lupe has various rapping styles such as punchlines and "heartfelt" songs with storytelling.

You cant tell me not one of these songs relate to you or someone close that you know

He say she say
And he gets the girl
Intruder alert
Coulda been
American terrorist
Hip hop saved my life
Kick push 1 and 2
Just might be ok
Prisoner 1 & 2
Hurt me soul
Hood now

Its hilarious how yall try to use lupes extraordinary lyricism against him.. When he has songs thats not even lyrical yet still deep and hit close to home..

Never did I think I would see such a comparison.

This shyt is not remotely close. X was killin everything, his features alone were :whew:

The release of his debut had everyone loosing they dam mind.

All that lyrical shyt is cool, but X hits the soul. No amount of technical skill tops that, none.

X is on a completely different level, it's not comparable, at all.

They were both dope, Lupe had a super lyrical but fresh take when he came in, and his first album was outright amazing...

But DMX was just on another fukking planet when he first came on the scene. Dude had arguably the best verse on all of his features, and bought a whole different vibe back to the game with his music and presence. Sad to see that his demons got the best of him, but those first 3 albums were just unbelievable.

I understand where people are coming from not liking Lupe's abstract approach at times but when nikkas try to act like dude's music is soulless is where I have to :whoa: :francis:

He's not always animated like say, Busta Rhymes, but the shyt that you get when you bust down his lines show that the man has made some truly great music :ehh:

I believe overall DMX was better in his reign than Lupe. In this way DMX has had an impact on Hip-Hop that Lupe simply never had (it can be argued that Lupe's impact could've been greater had he blown up in the 90's).
I believe both artist's styles are different to say the least. DMX has the emotional and energy edge levels above Lupe, but creativity wise and connecting different aspects of life Lupe has the edge. So deciding who is better is very dependent on what output connects to you most.

To me personally they are neck to neck, just because I don't see them as cards of the same deck. Even if their medium of artistry is the same. I highly respect both artists because they both were perfect in how they delivered what they had.

He didn't say absolute best,he said arguably the best:yeshrug:
i guess so but even then, that's the same year that Big Pun dropped and there's no way you're telling me DMX was close to the level as Pun.

Not to mention pun's debut having more replay value than DMX's debut TO THIS DAY.
