Parade as a whole is a better album imo

But Raspberry Beret and Pop Life are in my top Prince tracks

For him to go the direction of ATWIAD after how huge of a hit Purple Rain was is some truly genius ishhh:wow:
I hate how media cacs say it sounded liked a Beatles album when Prince didn't fukk with the Beatles like that.

shyt even the Jackson 5 when they were interviewed they had to say they were influenced by the Beatles just so cacs would go :smugdraper:. But they didn't even listen to the Beatles either.

Look up some reviews of ATWIAD and they liken it to SGT PEPPERS

Yeah, it was a genius move and it was a brave move coming right after Purple Rain which was a global success and the peak of his popularity.

I remember listening to an old interview from the 80's and he said his album Around The World In A Day was his favorite album

Here's the interview

Prince was a master at drum programming the LM1 Linndrum too.

The hihats on 777-9311 and Dorothy Parker:ohlawd:

Jesse Johnson was trolling Dave girabaldi didn't do that drum pattern..it was Prince

I love how unorthodox Prince's drum programming was with the Linn drum

777-9311 is like two different drum patterns going against the grain, but somehow he made it work! :mindblown::wow:

His lead guitar solo at the end of 777-9311 is so ice cold!!!!!!!!!!! :banderas:

Ballad of Dorothy Parker is so amazing :mjcry::wow:

It was a boss move fr artistically and business wise... he wasn't gonna allow PR to pigeonhole his brand..

Not surprising ATW was his favorite at time, It was the album that got him back where he wanted to be creatively...

I remember reading the reaction to Parade was not great especially by his black fanbase...

2 of my favs from him with plenty of extended mixes that came from them. I have to go with Around The World, it is a complete musical trip. My favorite track is Condition Of The Heart, I am a huge piano fan and want to learn it. He just jams on America, and The Ladder is my joint too..
