Prison myths,facts,reality..................here is the thread some of yall wanted me to do

Thread has some level bullshyt posts. As a white guy I've served time when I was 18 and just had to do a bid been out 3 weeks. Speaking about Florida here, jails aren't that racial, guards run most jails. Prison is where politics really is a life and death issue.
As long as you mind your business, show respect, and don't say shyt you can't back up you'll survive. Don't owe money and don't trust anyone who you weren't cool with on the streets then you just gotta worry about occupying your time rather than deal with drama.

Been telling them that from the jump,mind your business,show respect and you'll make it out with little to no problems.

You wanna get in other people's business and be tough,be safe

Neither was I. I wasn't ready for all that, I couldn't work out in jail, started experimenting with drugs popping pills. By the time I hit the milestone I started feeling myself and really making moves in there, taxing mfs. Ordering things from other people's commissary (here we call it canteen sheet) dude was like but you got $80 on yours I got $10 on mine. I definitely lost my morals.

Now I'm a university graduate with a good ass job doing a masters degree. Funny how things work.

What's the mindset of the people doing long terms especially, who got them at young ages?
How do they deal with the fact that their best years of their life are being taken?
Are their any books or resouces that help them with this?


Also what happens to older guys 50+ who come to Jail for the first time? How do they get treated?

I dont know why but every white guy I've met - when they tell me they went to prison, I always assume they joined a white supremacist gang. So I always give them the side eye

Prison at night I'd just mfs making a whole much of noise. People always shouting out the window or banging on their cell doors.

The bang of the cell doors supplement a round of applause.

One thing I ain't seen in the thread is the case of how many people actually get killed in prison and it goes unreported by the media.

maybe they got down different then

he definitely told me nikkas was getting raped and that he heard that shyt at night

and my mom's skin which is much darker than mine loves the sun too. my nana even MORE

Most cats who got long long stretches are dangerous,they give no fukks,so they get into all types of shyt,just because this is their home for the next 30-40 years or life,not everyone but most cats take this route.

It's hard breh,shyt I only did 6,but was sick I was missing my early 20's,so you can imagine how they feel.

Honestly I can't say if reading some books would help them far as it explaining how to handle time,the shyt is stressful so I doubt it.

Older cats are left alone unless they really outta line,most come in and chill,but you got some old cats who come through and get fukked up for not being respectful

The other main thing is don't get involved with hustling. As a heroin addict it's easy in jail cause guards run them for the most part. In prison there is more dope than on the streets only problems I ever had were a deal gone bad, and getting caught smoking weed (BTW there were 2 whites, 3 blacks,and a Rican in that cipher). Race really becomes an issue during "war time" and just respecting the fact the brothers hold their shyt down, same with whites, Latinos, etc.
