And she basically had the whole Black Memphis vote in her hand going into the primary.
Yea I was looking at the primaries and saw Hagerty had more votes in his 50% win than the entire dem primary.

I thought shyt felt daunting as a black man in NC, but that shyt right there. :mjcry:

No shot at winning.

I’m just curious how close will it be in the final race for the senate in this current climate. I already know what time it is in Tennessee, this is just somewhat of an experiment.

I think it's dope that she won the primary. I was just thinking about the uphill battle non conservatives have statewide in Tennessee.

I’m of the thought that running progressives in red/purple seats isn’t very conducive to winning for Democrats.
YIts a process so youu have to try and fail to get where you want to be. In 2018 Abrams and Gillum both fell flat but sometimes politicans have to try and fail in order to get people optimistic about a future they could have outside of the status quo

I just don’t think they have a chance. Too much stigma, too far left. Much easier for progressives to run and win against other Democrats especially older ones.

In a state like Tennessee, does it really matter though? I mean, you had a former Dem Gov run for US Senate and he's no progressive and he took an L to Marsha Blackburn.

Its true progressives don't have the infrastructure to even play in Senate general election races in blue states... much less in redder or purple states to make an informed declaration that they can never win.

However, considering that redder states have weaker Dem party structures, less Dem machine politics, I think there's an opening for progressives in settings like that. Dem electeds in the KY House and some figures who were elected statewide in Kentucky saw the energy Booker brought and that is important for laying foundations.

Mackler was backed by the DSCC and other traditional Dem electeds/orgs and I don't know who was running that campaign but they probably were stealing money.

Robin Kimbrough Hayes is another black progressive woman who was running and she got 27% of the vote. :leon:

Bradshaw winning while only raising $8,400 (I had to check the FEC records now to even make sure) is absolutely stunning. How the hell does this happen :dahell:

He's not a progressive.
That's not the reason why. Just like I said, I think they have much more success running in traditionally Democratic leaning places as of right now.

Now, I shouldn't deal in absolutes but this is just from what I've seen so far.

Yeah, I didn't mean use an absolute like never. How about much less likely in the current environment.

As for alignment within the party, I do think it matters. I think that moderates are still much more tolerable in these types of states to wider range of people. For now.
