They won the Super Bowl that year.
They won that year same reason the saints won theirs. High powered offense with a. good defense that created tons of turnovers.

Saints and packers and the patriots are proof you need a defense to win a super bowl not just a big passing attack.

I :heh: when "experts" were calling pack a sb contender this year. Their d is weak as hell.

They only won that game because the Pack said they had a read on Schottys play calling. :(

Their defense was average at best

Yeah, that's my point though. They won it all that year and he's still gotten much better since then.
Like I said though, I expect to win, but I'm not looking at anecdotes from 4 years ago. I think our D is better than theirs overall and if we can limit the penalties and turnovers, then I think our offense puts major points up. I think people writing us off as taking an automatic L are going to be really disappointed

They aren't much better. They just have a running game now but are suspect defensively

Spread Love - The Player Way
Calvin Pryor looks amazing on the all 22 cam.

:scusthov: :banderas:
Green Bay — The New York Jets had a choice of two safeties at No. 18 overall in May’s NFL draft.

Louisville slugger Calvin Pryor or Alabama’s Ha Ha Clinton-Dix.

Rex Ryan took the slugger.

“Both guys were excellent players,” the Jets coach said on his conference call Wednesday. “We would have been happy with either guy. But I took the guy who will knock your face in.”

All spring, these were widely considered the two best safety prospects in the entire draft and both boasted different games. At Alabama, Packers coaches said, Clinton-Dix ran the show. He was responsible for making the calls in Nick Saban’s complex scheme. They valued the football IQ.

Pryor was the hard-hitting, flag-drawing missile who could've invigorated a defense yet also came with an element of risk.

General manager Ted Thompson was asked after his pick whether Clinton-Dix is a heavy hitter: “Heavy hitters in college or the NFL at the safety position, if you do that they're going to take you out of the game. …I'm not a big fan anymore of those blow-up guys because they're just going to hurt themselves or get penalties. I think (Clinton-Dix) plays the game very bright and very smart."

Time will tell who has the best safety. At Seattle, Clinton-Dix was up and down. Shaky as you might expect. His physical presence was evident — he chased down Russell Wilson for a sack at the line of scrimmage — but he also missed tackles. Against Oakland, Pryor’s rookie season got off to a fast start with four tackles and two pass break-ups.

Ryan sees a safety who can handle himself in coverage, in space — the criticism of Pryor coming out of coverage. The coach was even a bit defensive when asked about Pryor’s coverage skills.

He believes Pryor is a total package who will roam the secondary with an iron fist.

“You guys tell me,” Ryan said. “He looked pretty good last week. Again, he can do it all. I think that’s the most underrated part of his game. He can run, he’s got cover skills, his angles were questioned when he first came out of college but he adapted his game quickly and again I think sometimes you underestimate his coverage skills but the fact that he’s an overall safety that’s going to be a force for years and years.

“He is a hitter and that will be recognized early.”

Pryor might've been a missing piece of sorts for Green Bay’s secondary — there's a reasonable chance Thompson would have still taken Pryor if Clinton-Dix went to New York.

After splitting time with Micah Hyde in the season opener, Clinton-Dix continues to grow into the position. Both players are on the field in Green Bay’s dime package.

On Monday, defensive coordinator Dom Capers cited the rookie's close on a scrambling Wilson.

Capers said Clinton-Dix will “bring a physical presence,” adding there were players he’s sure the rookie “would like to have back.”

“But I think it’s a good start,” Capers said. “I’m certainly glad we’ve got him.”

Ryan does like Clinton-Dix, too.

“An outstanding player," Ryan said. "The guy has centerfield ability. I like the way he comes up, supports the run, he’s an active player. He’s smart, he’s tough. I think he has a chance to be a good one.”

He just likes Calvin Pryor more.

Now, the two will face off at Lambeau Field.
