i think the qb depends on the coach here, for example if a harbaugh type comes in you can have a game manager type qb

I thought the offence moved the ball well today and Geno played well. The interception and final sack weren't his fault. On the pick he was hit while on the sack the RB whiffed on his block. Overall Geno played well and advanced the team into the red zone several times. The teams lack of weapons was exemplified when Geno tried to throw a fade to a seemingly open Kerley, w'hom was then blanketed by Browner's towering frame. Kerley is 5'9; Browner is 6'2+. If Geno throws the same ball goes to a tall jump ball recever like Alshon Jeffrey or Brandon Marshall, that play is probably a touch down with or without the same coverage Browner employed. This rationale is why the offence's struggles aren't all on Geno. The receiving core on this team is subpar and limited. There's no #1 receiver and the line characteristically breaks down at the most inopportune times. On the sack that took us out of FG range, the rusher sped into Geno in a flash, there are very few QBs that could avoid a sack in that situation. Brady can't.

Ehhhh... It seemed that way. I'm still not sold on Geno though. He'll play well for a game or two, then be right back to the same ol' Geno.

He's played consistently better for the last 3-4 games. His pocket presence is better now. He's stepping up now as opposed to backwards, which hitherto was a real problem. When he has time, Geno is seeing the field and making good decisions. He is maintaining good footwork and stepping into throws at a much higher rate now, with the payoff being better accuracy into tight windows. Against the Pats, Geno made throws into tight coverage against decent corners. In the same game, Geno set his protection perfectly against a full out blitz and hit Connor on the outside for a tremendous gain. This adjustment alone connotes progress and shows Geno does learn from his mistakes. Throughout the game Geno hit 10+ yard per attempt passes at regular intervals en route to the red zone. He has gotten better. That said, his game obviously still has room for improvement.
Geno is good in the short to intermediate passing game but his accuracy down field is lacking. He's gotten better at it but I want to see more improvemnt. Moreover, he is still sometimes late on throws. This part of his game is getting better at a faster rate than the deep ball woes though. I'm not overly concerned though. When Geno came out, his deep ball accuracy was listed as a concern in his scouting report. But so was his general pocket presence, eye discipline and footwork. He's improved in all these areas so I expect to see far more improvement in deep ball accuracy when we get better receivers.

The jobs of Jets head coach Rex Ryan and John Idzik both are very much in jeopardy and, should the Jets make any changes, Johnson would be ready to move forward with the football expertise and manpower he would need surrounding him.

He might push the Jets towards hiring Bowles from Arizona. I would be all for that but I think it's time for an offensive based head coach. Who was the last one the Jets had? I guess it would have to be Kotite, that's damn near 20 years ago
Parcells came up as a defensive coach but he knew offense...but yeah that last OC we hired was Kotite. Coslet was the longtime OC for the Bengals too.

Give it up guy. Geno will never be starter qb material, he's a back up at best. For one he takes the worse sacks at the absolute worst time, we can never score in the redzone.The guy should be done in NY. I can't stand this knuckle head. If you have to wonder when he is going to throw a pick everytime he drops back, what kind of qb is that?
