3 is through a router + firewall

1 can also be through a router

2 is just through a router but with no DMZ server

I got my shyt on static ip through DMZ and still get a 2. Always been that way.

Yup. And even when I had no security and a static, I always had a 2. Only time I got a 1 was direct through cable modem.
