The Michigan State Spartans and the San Jose State Spartan have scheduled a 2016-2020 home-and-home football series, both schools announced this afternoon.The series will known as the Spartan Classic and if the first four game series is deemed profitable,there's speculation that the series will be extended for another 5 year period.

Michigan State will host the first game of the series at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing on Sept. 12, 2016.The teams will alternate home games thereafter.

“Michigan State has developed into one of the premier football programs in the FBS,” Walter Rosetti, San Jose State University Associate Vice President and Director of Athletics, said. “We are excited to add them to our future slate of games.”

“We are excited to take part in the Spartan Classic with San Jose State as it provides another major opponent to our future schedule,” Michigan State director of athletics Mark Staten said. “The WAC and Big Ten have enjoyed a long-standing relationship, so the opportunity to add another WAC opponent was attractive. We have two of the most passionate fan bases in college football and the atmosphere at both Spartan Stadium in East Lansing and Spartan Stadium in San Jose are among the best in college football. Attracting top teams to MSU remains a goal as this is the type of matchup our loyal fans love.”

Guess I got a new rival to play against along with Notre Dame..I'm sure @Rekkapryde will make sure this series will be reflected in my future schedule starting next year,for realism.
