truthfully, i understand what you are saying. the idea of an all in one entertainment system is honestly a good idea. im sure that the convenience of having your movies, music, games and internet all in one easy to navigate system would be great. i like the idea behind it. but, no matter how many times they call it an "entertainment system" its still a gaming system at the end of the day. otherwise they could have released the entertainment section separate at a far lower cost, especially since you can run your ps4/wii-u through the Xbox One.

and my main thing is this: as a gamer, MS just dont have the first party titles/devs for me to accept a less powerful gaming system from them.if i were to purchase a gaming system from MS i would need either for them to have a strong first party catalouge (which they dont) or for them to be able to compete with Sony for multiplats.

in this generation it was pretty much neck and neck, occassionally 360 had the better version of a multiplatform title, occassionally sony had an exclusive title that appeals to me. with this next generation it is pretty much solidified that ps4 will have the best console versions of multiplats. so where does that leave gaming on Xbox One. they wont have the best multiplatform titles and they dont have strong first party games/devs. Titanfall looks good, but the devs have already said the next one will be on both systems.

with nintendo, i can accept that their system is less powerful because they still have those first party titles i want. with the ps4, i know they will have the best multiplats as well as a ton of exclusive titles from devs who i enjoy (not knack, that game looks like ass, and i actually love platformers). but the Xbox One doesn't have what i needed them to have for me to spend that much money on an entertainment unit. i already have a pretty good set up, but i would trade that in for an easy to use system if i knew it could compete as far as gaming. i just dont see the appeal from a gamers stand point. i understand some people may think this system will appeal to casuals, but the price point seems too high to me for casuals.

and i know pc has higher specs, truthfully, i have been slowly making the move to pc and might just go pc and wii-u this gen, but the ps4 still has appeal to me as i like the ease of console gaming. and on the console gaming front, the highest powered console is $100 cheaper than its nearest competitor.

You know what? I can respect your opinion because it was a well thought out and did does not reek of fanboyism. If all you want to do is game and the MS exclusives Halo, KI, Titan fall etc dont appeal to you and the entertainment integration is not appealing to you, I think you should get the PS4. But I will say this, 1. Don't count out MS, every gen creates new ip such as titan fall. Next E3 shall be very entertaining. As for graphics the are both comparable no matter what anyone says. Most cant tell if its 720, 900, or 1080p these are fanboy arguing points. Most cant tell a ps4 from a X1 game until someone tells them.

It's obvious you don't know greg, he is always critical of Playstation stuff when it warranted. He's not like the xbox ign guys who bendover for MS. It is the reason Shu Yoshida likes him is because he pulls no punches when he see something wrong or he doesn't like, honest feedback, not back slapping

Exactly. Them Playstation Beyond guys stay shytting on Sony. The last show I heard they were talking about how non of Sony's exclusives sales. Dude has no reason to be a propagandist

It's both. People expect their devices to do multiple things now days. No one expects smartphones to ship with cameras or other features seperate.

That's your opinion. But M$ has a very strong first party track record. With each gen they have added multiple iconic new IPs. With each gen they have advanced gaming in some specific way.

That's not guaranteed at all. First off graphics alone don't make a game better or worse. All things equal graphics would be the only deciding factor, but these systems have different advantages. If a games graphics are better on the ps4, but the online experience is more stable on Xbox, then which version is truly "better"

Also COD has a higher resolution on ps4 but the framerate is more stable on X1. Which one is the better version?

It all comes down to your individual situation/opinion. If the x1 doesn't work for you that's totaly understandable. But you can't try to downplay the reasons other people might choose it. Higher specs is not a priority for most console gamers, otherwise they'd be PC gamers.

I'm sure the PS4 is a great machine and it will be worth it for the exclusives, but the Xbox upgrades the entire living room experience. In my opinion that's worth more than a higher resolution or a couple extra graphical effects. A graphics card is not the only measure of "power" in these systems. The Xbox is more powerful in different ways, you get a much more complete package for that extra $100.

I understand that that's not the package that some people are looking for, but I think you are oversimplifying the issue by simply stating one console is cheaper and more powerful. That's not the full story at all.

Why do I need to be getting checks in order to have an opinion?

There's nothing in my post that you can dispute so you fall back on calling me a shill.

:scusthov: at you stans
Bank of America?? Paypal is instantaneous so I assume you'd get it from there. Staggered payments or one lump sum biweekly?? I think I may sign up for that job.

Sony Stan 101

"When the spin stops working, accuse them of being a shill"

:dead:
Xbot lexicon

Spin-Used VERY frequently towards those who bring up pertinent points to make the Xbot in question think.

Deflect- Is said by Xbot whenever he/she is getting hammered with facts.

Stan- Fallback word whenever the accused disagrees with said Xbot

:umad: - Fallback smiley

Resolution doesn't matter- This is usually said whenever comparisons between two titles are brought forth and the PS4 version is inexplicably better graphically. 1080P--------->720P is small but for the last 6-7 years said Xbot would've mentioned how subhd to 720P was VERY noticeable.

Xbot lexicon

1. You didn't bring up a point. You couldn't spin any of my points so you didn't even try.

2. What facts :mindblown: you mean those neogaf talking points?

3. And 4. Y'all created that :umad:

5. Wonder what you said when ps3 launch games were even further apart than X1/ps4 launch games :lupe:

neogaf talking points - Any coherent response that's refuting Xbot logic.

Blatant lies- Doesn't deserve much attention when spewed.
