looks like sony wants to charge more than 399 but is scared too.
1. last time they charged more than 400, they met some backlash. Msft has had some recent success with the 500 dollar price tag so they aren’t really sweating it.
2. there probably aren’t 2 SKUs like some rumors would suggest. So there’s nothin to offer consumers who think a ps5 above 399 is too much.
3. I still think this is a smoke signal to msft. Sony is obviously still trying to milk the ps4 with its remaining exclusives and have been cautious with the amount of ps5 info they let out. While MSFT is full steam ahead and will likely reveal price sooner rather than later. To me, this article and the Bloomberg article just screams to me “we are ok charging more but don’t really wanna say that right now. “ plus it preps consumers for potential price hike.
