I'm obviously a YouTuber, which means I have some insight into this shyt that you don't. It's MAD frustrating when people like you that don't create anything say shyt like this.



I guarantee I put in more hours than you, and most other people on this website. YouTube is literally a 24/7 job if you want to reach the level I have.

I'm a hair under 200k subscribers with 45 million views. You don't get to where I have without putting in real work.

I am the writer, the voice actor, videographer, the editor and the SEO specialist for my videos. Editing alone puts me on par with the 40 hour work week.

You know how long it takes to edit a 15 minute video?




This doesn't count the time on research, the writing, the voiceover work, and the audience engagement that has to be done.

On top of that, I somehow find a way to stream 3 times a week, 5+ hours each stream.



Believe me when I tell you this-- ain't a motherfukking thing lazy about me. I am a true hustler, and you will only ever be successful on YouTube if you are a hustler.

You are actively fukking yourself by staying loyal to youtube but you probably wouldn't have a following without it so of course you are against ad block, it has nothing to do with what's best for everyone and everything to do with what's best for your pockets.

Again its rare that I see an ad maybe the rare occasion i watch a youtube video on my phone screen I usually select one of my kodi screens and the video plays where i select it too with no ads

But because you are a creator on youtube and you stand to gain from the status quo it's not in your best interest to even consider another system like patreon or web mining without a prebuilt alternative. But that's not how change works! Youtube was not what it is today when it first started right!? People were posting on the internet with no ads at one time right!? So there is a possible future where selling advertisement isn't the end all be all of how things work online, that's all I'm saying. And you don't get there by indulging these companies fukk that.

-I have a Patreon; my Patreon revenue is completely dwarfed by my ad revenue. It's not even close, and I have over 100 patrons on average, most of them being in my $20 and $5 tier. As a person with nearly 200k subs, you can see how Patreon is not a real option.

- I don't care how I get paid, I only care THAT I get paid. I don't do this shyt for free, not as a grown man with responsibilities, taxes, housing and family to take care of. You are quite literally suggesting I do all my work by HOPING a portion of my audience has the funds to donate to me every month, instead of ALL/MOST of my subscribers watch a couple seconds of ads that costs them absolutely nothing but a few seconds. My videos are nearly 20 minutes, a few seconds is a pittance.

Well i have music premium and on the same account for regular YouTube i still get ads. And before they separated it, they sent out an email to tell users that it would be 2 separate services

Jesus Christ this is why I posted a link to Capitalist Realism earlier, the cycle of ad revenue, platforms/hosts and creators is not synonymous to the internet, it's just that companies have found a way to make money right now but that's only monetization, I pity you if you think that's all the internet can be.

This is a catch-22, there will be no alternative without the need for one, you can't expect a billion dollar industry to shift because people just don't like ads. You have to 'fukk things up' or disrupt in order for whatever you want to change to be met with the opportunity to change it. This is like a slave refusing plans to kill his master because "Well where are we going to go?". Netflix is what it is because people didn't want ads and wanted more control. Patreon didn't gain real popularity until people on youtube started being more vocal about their problems with the platform and realizing they can't rely on it 100%. 'The plan' isn't to harm creators but smaller creators will be harmed by the plan, things don't change otherwise. Of course you can't live off Patreon money, because people don't fukk with you like that! People like you got lucky with a service like Youtube, they created an ecosystem where you can make a bit of money have a following while ultimately not being that popular or successful.

Many youtubers can have hundreds of thousands of subscribers and only get 10k-50k views but manage to stay afloat. That's cool but not at the expense of the user experience, the viewer is king if I don't like something no matter how petty it's up to the platform to accommodate me or be replaced. This is the problem with 'youtubers', they are short sighted content creators. Think about early Rooster Teeth or Giant Bomb, they were smart enough to build a site and host their own content, they had an alternative! They're not bytching about ad revenue because even when they were small they knew not to rely on another company for income. If you do, THAT'S ON YOU don't play this boo hoo watch my ads I'm a poor little creator, if you can't survive without youtube ads then you are not a true creator, you just happen to make some money on youtube.com and a time will come where that shyt is not viable anymore, companies are not immortal. And it's not our fault if you can't keep up.

Remember Vessel? You could get youtubers videos like a week early for $5 a month it was dope especially if you were watching a series of something. They got bought out by Verizon and shut down 150 people laid off, that's why I don't give a fukk about these companies if they want to play dirty I will match that energy.
