So why did 3d fail at home?:francis:
It's not about playing with the other person. It's about being cutoff from the outside world, and the outside world cutoff from you. Some people don't even like to game with headphones on for this very reason. VR is a very restrictive/individual activity. That's fine for SOME people. But most people live with others.

And that's without even talking about all the cords, and setup involved, and the high price point.

VR is not for the masses.

We are a tech forum here, and I think only one person @Ciggavelli has even preordered a VR unit at this point.

That should give you an indication of its mainstream appeal.:manny:
3d failed because everyone couldn't watch unless they have 3d glasses. VR is a game. And like I said before, the vast majority of game players play by themselves. So it won't have the same downfalls that 3d had. And wtf is this cut off from the world shyt. If I'm playing Dying Light idgaf about what people around me are doing. Who plays video games in a social setting with people around em? shyt your saying not only doesn't make sense but it doesn't even happen in real life. If you got a family, which I'm guessing is what your talking about, you can pause the game just like you would with a non VR game. You just making up situations that prolly don't even happen 1% of the time with an average gamer.

Everyone can't experience VR without a headset.

That's literally the exact same downfall as 3d:francis:

I have 3 kids and a wife. It just wouldn't work to strap myself into any apparatus that totally took my attention from what's going on around me.

Step on my 7 month old, piss off my 6 year old by ignoring him, and get laughed at by my 11 year old for flailing around the living room like an idiot.

I don't allow my kids to wear 2 earbuds cause they need to be able to hear me/each other/the world around them.

There's absolutely no way VR could make it in my household. And most people live in similar situations as me.

Sure single/individual college students or loners can do it, but the rest of us, not at all.

Who is everyone?! Like its been said many times before nobody is playing games in a group of people. Its not the same thing as 3d at all. 3d is still TV which is far more likely to be viewed by more than 1 person. If you got a wife and kids, VR shouldn't be your priority anyway, but then again your a small minority. This shyt really isn't that hard to understand, but you hatin so ite.

What's with these extreme scenarios you're bringing up? Did you not buy a Wii because you might flail around and throw the controller or hit someone?? What makes you think the every VR application is something where you gotta move around and such?? that's the HTC Vive. The Oculus and PSVR doesn't need you to be moving around and shyt.

The majority of games will be seated games. You sounding funny talking about the VR being a no no for you but then defending Kinect games like Disney Fantasia in which your full attention and movement is needed. So Dancing and using the kinect for gaming which requires physical body movement is cool but seated VR games where you'll be using a controller is somehow a deal breaker? :stopitslime: I could see the not being able to hear/see what's going around argument but I don't think that's as big of a deal as you're making it out to be.

This is really only an issue if you have kids. Most gamers probably don't have kids

There was no headset removing you from the world around you, and even still there's this.

Again. With one there's a helmet, with the other there is not.

All of the challenges that kinect has, VR has them ten fold.:francis:

The fukk?

Most people live with other people. The fukk are you even getting at here.:what:
Why does that automatically equate to other people having to be involved. Theres 2 other people in my house right now. Ones asleep the others watching the same thing I am in in a different room. Smarten up.
