People are worried about war with China, Russia and superbugs but grid failure is much more likely to happen and none of us are prepared for it :francis:

I love PR...been back 2 back years for work and just ended up chilling out for a long weekend. I hope they're cool, parts of the island I drove around still seem smashed from the hurricane 5 years ago.

That being said, I keep playing not getting a generator. I know this country will do the bare minimum to sustain shyt, so I don't know why even in a city like Chicago I keep playing chicken with the power grid here.

get a solar powered generator if you're worried about it. Some solar panels.

In my childhood, being the the hurricane Zone, I went through 4-5 major hurricanes.
No Power for weeks, Government food rations, Kerosene lamps, People's mattress flowing in a new water bed.
I saw and remember the eye of the hurricane Hugo in 1989.:whoo: I was 2.
Hope PR regains its power soon, I'm glad its gone over St.Croix already.

Do it, I'm not at the point where I'm stockpiling food or anything but there was an insane blizzard 2 years ago so bad that power in my part of town went out for 2 days, I locked up the store headed home and my house was the only one lit on the entire block :blessed:.

After Maria the gov sold the management of the electric grid to a private company that been jacking up costs like crazy (electric bills going up 80-100 dollars in just a few months) while the grid keeps deteriorating.

Even without hurricanes PR's grid has been garbage. Constant blackouts multiple times a week, multihour blackouts all the time. Just a few months ago the entire island lost power for 2-3 days, and last year there was another incident where everyone lost power for hours.

The storm wasnt even that bad in the northeast where most people live. Power grid is just a complete joke
Damn I had no idea that shyt was that bad. :ohhh:

My Pops Forever RIP
Bad hurricane, the one that comes up under PR and doesn't hit the mountains, so it's gonna pick up steam in between DR and PR so east DR is gonna get pummeled.
