After Maria the gov sold the management of the electric grid to a private company that been jacking up costs like crazy (electric bills going up 80-100 dollars in just a few months) while the grid keeps deteriorating.

Even without hurricanes PR's grid has been garbage. Constant blackouts multiple times a week, multihour blackouts all the time. Just a few months ago the entire island lost power for 2-3 days, and last year there was another incident where everyone lost power for hours.


The storm wasnt even that bad in the northeast where most people live. Power grid is just a complete joke

Sounds just like Haiti, but sometimes we wouldn’t have jackshyt for months. I remember first coming to America and was surprised that you guys had constant air conditioning.
