Dude was dumb af for pulling the gun out and threatening but the off duty cop played it like he wanted no conflict when he saw the gun until ol boy back was turned, literally shot him in his back and while he was running…He got his with covid I guess

You don't want to draw a weapon when someone already has one out ready to shoot. Drawing when he had his back turned was the right move.

to the confrontation, where he was in the wrong.
to going back to his car to pull out the gun.

an argument can be made that the officer shouldn’t have shot him because he was walking away.

cheddaman unnecessarily escalated the situation twice. i don’t blame the cop from stopping him from escalating it again.

Did he drop the gun? If not it's still self defense. He could have ran, turned around and fired back. His van was still there so the guy was going to come back. The cop didn't really have a means to safely escape since he'd have to hop back in his car which leaves him exposed. He couldn't even back out fast since the van is there. He was right in killing dude.

Looks like the cop was chill and walking away. Somebody pulls a gun on me I'm shooting to kill. I'm not sure why you blame the cop for not de-escalating when the guy could've done the same.

Upping a firearm when you not defending your life is illegal. Cop was 100% in the right.
