They could have easily cut him and let him go elsewhere especially when everyone knew they weren’t keeping him at $20+ million. This move shows more than anything that they don’t have full confidence in Lance, which also hurts him as well as once he’s benched it’s a wrap on his confidence.

Last 4 seasons, 2 were completely ruined by QB injury and last year Jimmy injury definitely hurt his performance in the playoffs. Guarantee that history being factored in here

2018 and 2020 dudes was mad about not having a good enough backup QB

Now we got the best backup in the league and dudes still complaining
