:mjlol: Neptunes had a top 10 billboard smash hit in in 1997 with Mase Lookin’ at Me

Dropped

NORE - Superthug
ODB - Got Your Money
Jay-Z - I Just Wanna Love U
Mystikal- Danger
Mystikal- Shake Ya Ass
Ludacris - Southern Hospitality
Ray J the God - Wait a Minute :wow:
Usher - You Don’t Have to Call
Jadakiss - Knock Yourself Out
Fabolous - Holla Back
Nelly - Hot in Here

Were producing the hits of the biggest pop acts on the planet in NSYNC and Brittney Spears on top of being THE go-to producers for rap singles all before Grindin’ blew up in the summer of ‘02

This part

“The Clipse diversified their portfolio with a lot of experimental production. At one point it was easy to point out a Neptune beat, it was getting gimmicky.”

:russ:
nikka the clipse were the Neptunes artists, signed to the Neptunes label, rapping over the Neptunes beats…wtf you mean “the clipse diversified their portfolio with experimental production” like they were doing the Neptunes a favor by accepting unlimited beats from the hands down hottest producers in the game :russ::russ::russ:

They could’ve sold every single one of those beats to bigger acts and made more bank and acclaim
:russell:

Except for SuperThug (same song Micheal Jackson loved), Got Your Money, and Southern Hospitality most of those songs have similar elements/sounds to them.

Grinding was different, and no artist was typically going for the beat/sound they had on Hell Hath No Fury.it did not have the staple Neptune sound they were known for.

You basically proved why they would’ve been seen as Dr.Luke Max Martin and Stargate if they didn’t work with The Clipse.

They would’ve been Pop Commercial legends with no grit who Hip-Hop would’ve passed on over time.

The mental hoops Pusha Stan’s are jumping through is funny.

:mjlol:

OR they would’ve just given those same exact beats they gave to the clipse to actually greater, more impactful rappers

Pharrell literally threatened to give Grindin’ to Hov…and for as dope as the clipse version is, would’ve been easily several times bigger and more revered if peak Jay-Z was rhyming over it

We heard about what Hov did with OH boy and we personally heard the Blueprint 2 album
:russ:

Just like Pusha wouldn’t of worked on the Paris track. Grinding wouldn’t of worked for Jay-Z

Grindin, What Happened To That Boy, Story Of Adidon, etc etc. I'm not saying he belongs in a top 50. I could care less about that. I'm saying he is above Slaughterhouse level.

NAH I WAS TALKING
ABOUT THIS PUSHA T SOLO RUN
YOU MENTIONED NOT
CLIPSE & THE BIRDMAN NOR DISS TRACKS.

HES BASICALLY BEEN AN ELEVATED
MIXTAPE RAPPER WITH A KANYE
STIMULUS AS A SOLO ARTIST.

DUDE DOES NOT MAKE
IMPACTFUL MUSIC.

ITS COOL COKE RAPS OVER COOL.

I LOVED DAYTONA FOR WHAT
IT WAS BUT IM NOT GONNA
PRETEND THOSE SONGS ARE "SONGS"

How are y'all always tryna quantify impact, like damn near every rapper ain't have some type of impact? Hell, ninjas are still quoting Ahmad. And he's barely a footnote.

You can say that Pusha/Clipse benefited from Neptunes, but Neptunes benefited as well. How come their formula didn't work for Most Wanted? And Kelis didn't even go gold. So the Clipse were a perfect match at the perfect time.

With that said, Jimmy isn't even in the stratosphere for anything.

SIMPLE....

DID PUSHA T HAVE THE TYPE
OF IMPACT JUVENILE HAD ON HIP HOP?

WHAT ABOUT MYSTIKAL?

WHAT ABOUT JA RULE?

WHAT ABOUT CAM'RON?

PUSHA LINKED WITH KANYE
AND WAS ALLOWED TO MAKE DUCKTALE MIXTAPE RAPS WITH A MAJOR LABEL STIMULUS.

HE HASNT MADE ONE SONG
IN HIS SOLO CAREER THATS HAD
ANY SIGNIFICANT IMPACT ON HIP HOP.
