Them nikkas is from the suburbs of Va beach. I just don’t believe it like that .Could I be wrong of course. Suburban nikkas do dirt roads too. I can’t even recall in any major hoods in Va beach it was mainly Norfolk and Newport News. Granted I’m younger than them but still

:yeshrug:

And people from the area have said this before
I personally know SEVERAL guys who jumped in from safe backgrounds. The “allure” is real. but still…its not lost on me that we as a society and culture have to deal with this...

Where are you from in the 7-5, brodie? And how old are you?

I'm also much younger than them (34), and I'm not originally from the area. But for reference I lived in Northwest Virginia Beach in Thalia South...

Its plenty of hoods in The Beach: Baker, Bayside, Twin Canals, Green Run, Atlantis, Bow Creek, Atlantic Park, etc. Plenty of hoods, and where they from in Bridle Creek can be considered a hood area in The Beach too...

Virginia Beach is one of those cities where street-oriented cats are more on some, run the money up, kinda time, rather than a killing field. It's like how NYers describe Harlem in comparison to Brooklyn or Bronx, the old nickname "Money Making Manhattan". Not that nikkas don't get money in other boroughs, or that it's not killers in Harlem, because both are true. But the general atmosphere and aura of the streets in VB is money over bullshyt...

This is what makes it different from the other Tidewater cities, all of which are more about violence. Norfolk is right next door and is a much more violent city, but street dudes in Nfk who ever left they block know Beach dudes are hustlers first. And street dudes from Nfk who've left they block also know there's Beach dudes who are gravediggers too...

But your post proves something I've stated before, that every time someone "from the 757" says the Clipse weren't outside it always be nikkas not from The Beach. Because people from The 75 swear Beach cats are sweet or they up on game on Beach politics...

When nikkas from The Beach are asked about them, they either know, or say they don't know because they not from them dude's hood or era. Beach cats don't be like "nah them nikkas wasn't around"...

I'm sure I've shared this on here before, but I knew a brother once who used to run with Malice, brother born and raised in The Beach, when I used to live in the city. Also met a handful of other cats who knew them, knew of them, or were around in the era they grew up---->including a couple cats from Diggs Park, Berkley, Youngs Park. These guys I knew were credible, I have no reason to believe they needed to lie for Clipse...

As I said I also knew people who said they didn't know anything about them. But it always be people not from VB I met who swore vehemently "man them dudes not street!" 🤣 🤣

Pusha family is apparently a drug family he was born out here in the Bronx possibly from a family that was plugged into the drug game at a higher level

Kiss was another middle class kid that did it to be cool

That’s the main motivation really even for those who did grow up in it outside the ones who had no choice

@murksiderock all facts.

To add on,

1. I’m just a lil younger than Push and I went to school in Richmond when 757 hit its apex: Grinding dropped, AI, Vick, etc. All my college friends were from VA Beach. VA beach, really 757 as a whole, you can’t pigeonhole. Folk from there def don’t look like typical ‘street cats’, but 757 is more about connections. It’s a port city nggas can do the math. Speaking of connections..

2. Teddy Riley is from NY, used to hustle. He was tight with Rich Porter. All the drug cats used to come to DC, but when that got hot (bc of Alpo), they went even further south and hit VA Beach. So, the drugs were there. So much so that it don’t matter where you live

Nggas used to think Jay Z was bullshyttin talkin bout VA. Nah. And it’s no coincidence he chose Pusha’s song to say ‘ask Teddy Riley bout me’. :ohhh: That wasn’t no random shout out they were connected more than people think, OG Juan was Rich and Alpo’s plug

OG sold to those you called kingpin. If those your drug lords, then who are we then?

Everyone has a choice. That's the myth that a lot of us are sold young, that we have "no choice" in how we turned out. I remember in '09, my last year in prison, a brother I looked up to name "Shine", was only about a decade older than me. So he's about 30 in '09...

And he was the one who reversed that train of thought for me. No matter what background you come from, because there's plenty of people who come from terrible situations who never choose a criminal lifestyle...

There's always a choice...

The word on the Brothers Thornton has always been that their family, specifically their mom's side, had a bunch of people laced in trafficking. They attested to this on wax, but the people I met with knowledge of them, say this is fact...

They had a very comfortable middle class upbringing, but also came from a lineage of dealers. So the access was there and Mal got involved thru relatives and just later put Push on. To my knowledge this is a distinction from Kiss' upbringing...

Everybody know the Thornton boys werent kingpins but everyone who should know, also knows that they were outside...

You're just more plugged into Nfk culture then. If you went to Bayside I'm surprised you don't know the reputation the Bayside/Aragona area has, it's a legit hood on the streets...

💯

Virginia Beach isn't an overly violent place, we all know that. It's not a city where cats getting clapped all the time, but those types are out there if someone is really looking for em, and Beach nikkas are definitely, definitely bag chasers. It's a hustlers city and most cities are either grimy and violent, or more relaxed and hustle oriented. The Beach is about running up a bill...

I love the city in general, maybe my favorite city in America. Iso, you should definitely move here 🤣 it's an amazing city!
