why do labels constantly sign nikkas and then shelf them versus releasing them? Is there a tax write off or something for having shelf artist?
It like how YMCM have a long roster, but yet only about 3/4 artist get released dates

Probably all of the artists record material,so YM/CMB is spending money,so it counts as an expense...
Busta Rhymes and Mystikal werent necessarily signed to put out albums..
These nikkas can make hits....
Which mean they will probably have a role helping nikkas like lil chuckee or lil twist who are marketable but might have a questionable pen game
