They were like modern day versions of Baduizm.

I guess that new D'Angelo album's never coming out.

There is some good R&B out, but I can't stand a lot of this new R&B that tries to have a gritty sound in terms of the soundscape. It's like some artists try too hard to be different. A lot of these R&B songs lack melody, and that's the main component of R&B, melody.

Stop it with the "dirty" drums and get back to clean sounding R&B.

I'm more of a fan of songs like "Lay With You" by El Debarge & Faith Evans, Love On Top by Beyonce, and "Words" by Bobby Valentino.

it's quite dope actually. Me and my ex both used to sing mediocre duets of Love On Top. The album's worth it. I deleted those gay, dance tracks tho. Luckily, there's only three of them to toss to the bushes. The rest of the album is great.
