:leon: He sounds like Frank Ocean. I'ma hit up Datpiff right now :stylin:

EDIT

Datpiff doesn't even have his tapes.......nvm

James Fauntleroy was out before Frank, Frank actually sounds like him, he was hiding initially writing for cats like Chris Brown, find as much as you can on him

Not necessarily true, in fact they came onto the scene around the same time.

It's not exactly clear when Frank Ocean first met Tricky Stewart but he like Fauntleroy made a name writing for other artists though he was signed to the Def Jam as an artist not a writer.

This as far as I can tell is Franks earliest writing credit which was back in 08 when Fauntleroy first made his bones.

Hip-Hop Since '79
melody is the key.

I dont wanna hear R&B artists singing over breakbeats or some shyt GZA would rap over.

I like pianos, strings, some nice soothing sounds, and CLEAN lyrics.

I swear, I need me a record label. I'd bring TRUE R&B back.

The 90s did that R&B/Hip-Hop fusion CORRECTLY. nikkaz nowadays need to take notes.

Half these nikkaz can't sing nowadays. Most male R&B artists nowadays are just rappers with soft ass voices.

Like Frank Ocean

But his songwriting, lyrics, and concepts make up for it :ahh:

:lawd: forgive me for not mention Chrisette Michele :wow:

Get I Am and Epiphany asap.

Think of the R&B you love growing up on mixed with a little of jazz. :whew:

:pacspit: at Def Jam for derailing her last project and trying to make her pop. :rudy:
