status. and keep in mind, r&b in the '80s before new jack swing, was in way better shape than r&b is now. way better.
singers or neo-soul, which is a niche genre that most people cant genuinely get behind.

^^^^^^^man, i dont like most of what im hearing in here. most of this stuff has little to no flavor. besides, i follow r&b already anyway. and some of these links arent even r&b.
somebody needs to come thru with a movement the way teddy riley & them came thru with new jack swing in the late '80s and propelled the genre back tostatus. and keep in mind, r&b in the '80s before new jack swing, was in way better shape than r&b is now. way better.
its gonna have to be either a fresh new movement or theyre gonna have to come back around full circle and be on some throwback style chit.
most of the consistent quality is coming from eithersingers or neo-soul, which is a niche genre that most people cant genuinely get behind.

This is what I wanted to say.
A lot of the shyt posted in this thread has no melody.
I was just in the ride and was listenin to "Please Don't Go" by Immature. That song is miles ahead of most the shyt posted here. When it comes to R&B, I like a crisp sound. It seems like "R&B" of today have a disregard for highs(tweeters) in the soundscape.
People are trying to be to "gritty" with their sound.

yea, i couldnt listen to most of this stuff.
face and went back and listened to the good stuff

I can only imagine that R&B will have a musical renaissance since people are saying that it's dead. Same thing happened with Hip Hop, and it'll happen with R&B it seems.
