Could an MLS all-star team compete on the world stage?

Why does it seem like Americans women soccer is more advanced than men's?

Does Canada produce better soccer players than the US?

No.

Huge head start from Title IX.

Debatable.

World stage? An MLS Allstar team would probably be a higher tier English championship team. So second division in England. That’s not bad but wouldn’t be able to compete with the top 20 teams in the world.

1. There is less competition in women’s sports. Most women’s leagues in the world did not exist and the US was actually one of the pioneers of women’s soccer.

2. Compared to Men’s soccer which is 100 years old with well established leagues everywhere on the planet and the US league only existed since the 90’s. The US has gone from sending part time soccer players (Alexi lalas was living on his parents couch when he was called to the US team) to Christian Pulisic being worth 50 million if a team wanted to buy him from AC Milan.

3. lol no. Canada has 2 elite players and 1 player who is better than anyone the US has in Alphonso Davies. Legitimately one of the best left backs in the world. The US has way more players playing in the top leagues. What Canada has is a defined identity and grit. They remind me of the US in the 2000’s except again one of the best left backs in the world.

As I said..... your mindset is US-centric and you are too self centred to see it. What you just said applies to the Premier League in Emgland for soccer. Followed a close second by a few other european leagues. I LITERALLY said the best talent in those sports go to the NBA, NHL, MLB because it is the top league. The league is still a bloody US league. No cities outside US cities (except for the Canadian who get a special dispensation) are a part of the league. This was not a discussion about talent levels or popularity.... it was about OP wanting to understand the structure of the soccer pyramid in the world. The same type of pyramid which applies to basket all as. well.......

people..... :beli:
My entire point was that it’s easier to follow the NBA than it would to follow soccer because the NBA is the biggest and best league in the world. All the best talent in the world play in the NBA. It’s not like that in soccer. How are you even debating a fact is beyond me and making it seem US centric is hilarious. The WORLD watches the NBA, not the euro league. Soccer fans are tuned in to multiple leagues because the talent is spread around. Basketball fans are tuned in to the NBA and aside from the fans of those specific cities aren’t tuning in to watch the euro league. If you’re new to basketball and want to be a fan of it, you watch the NBA. If you’re new to soccer and don’t know where to start, you become lost like the OP. This isn’t even a debate. You say US centric but how much you wanna bet there’s more Jayson Tatum jerseys in turkey than there is the best player of Fernabache or wtv team plays there. Be so fr right now

You're British, so that's probably why you said this, but this statement is a lie.

The NBA isn't popular in the UK, but the NBA is popular in countries like China, Spain, France, Australia, the Philippines, Lithuania, Serbia, Greece, Turkey, etc.
