No way in hell does Miami beat that 2014 Spurs squad with Kobe.
not only does miami not beat them, the heat probably get swept

lebron single-handedly won the heat their only game that series (Game 2)...he damn near single-handedly won them game 1 too, the heat were leading early in the 4th before bron left the game

That's after playing with Bron.

If he never played with Bron, I don't see Bosh migrating into a 3pt shooter.

Chris Bosh only had 168 3pt attempts in his 509 games prior to playing with LeBron...in the 287 games during Bron's Heat era, Bosh took 352 3pt attempts. That's damn near double the attempts in half the amount of games:wow:

I just don't believe that Bosh playing alongside Wade and Kobe would've morphed into a Rashard Lewis breh:manny:

I just think Bosh in the paint with Haslem would've been more effective on the boards/protecting the pain/guarding other teams bigs with Kobe on the Heat than he was with Bron for the simple fact he would've been around the paint more:yeshrug:

Then you don't understand how spacing works in today's NBA.:ld:
You think Kobe would have lanes to drive with Bosh in the paint and Wade shooting 25% from 3?

he's had some great defensive performances as well...LeBron shot like 37% in the finals last year and ppl were tryig to reward him mvp

Lebron James 35 points, 13 rebounds, and 8 assists.

You could combine the best individual stats from every single one of Kobe's final appearances and it would be lower than Lebron's. His best rebounding series? Worst than Lebron. Best assisting series? Worse than Lebron.

And then you compare teammates? Lebron's performance last series was better than anyone of Kobe's final
appearances and it's not even close.

Where's this notion Kobe's a great finals performer coming from anyway?

2000 NBA Finals
Kobe - 15.6 PPG 4.6 RPG 4.2 APG 36.7 FG%

2001 NBA Finals
Kobe - 24.6 PPG 7.8 RPG 5.8 APG 41.5 FG%

2002 NBA Finals
Kobe - 26.8 PPG 5.8 RPG 5.3 APG 51.4 FG%

2004 NBA finals 5 games loss
Kobe - 22.6 PPG 2.8 RPG 4.4 APG 38.1 FG%

2008 NBA finals 6 games loss
Kobe - 25.7 PPG 4.7 RPG 5.0 APG 40.5 FG%

2009 NBA finals 5 games win
Kobe - 32.4 PPG, 5.6 RPG, 7.4 AGP 43.0 FG%

2010 NBA Finals 7 games
Kobe - 28.6 PPG 8.0 RPG 3.9 APG 40.5 FG%

37 games - 25.3 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 5.1 apg, 1.8 spg, 0.9 bpg, 3.3 tov, 41.2 FG%, 84.8 FT%, 50.7 TS%

nikkas act like he was averaging 30 on godly efficiency or some shyt. :dead:

Who's fg% don't decrease in the finals tho?

Besides OKC and that series against the Spurs where they essentially let him shoot has Lebron ever shot well in the finals?

What other Gaurd since MJ besides Kobe has put up 25, 5 and 5 for multiple finals runs?

Duncan, a 7 foot center shot 40% against the Pistons in 2005, still won MVP.

And should 2000 really count against the man playing on one ankle? Missing two games?

Hmm the Mavs team swept the Lakers that season out of the playoffs with Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol and Ron Artest.

Bean got swept by Dallas and lost to Oklahoma City in 5, shooting the lakers out of several games that series. Struggle thread by a poster looking to keeping the spotlight on bean :camby:
2011 and 2012 versions of Kobe is NOT prime Kobe. Not even close.

Anyway I don't see the Heat with prime Kobe beating the Spurs in 2014. I think they would beat the Mavs in 2011 though.

Didn't Kobe get swept by the same team? :dwillhuh:

He was way past his prime in 2011 plus he needed that knee drained. Remember he took the trip to Germany the following year.

Kobe was a shell of himself in 2011 and still performed better than Mr. 8 points LeBron James against the Mavs.

And he's only increased that rate since Bron left. Also the overwhelming majority of those 3s were taken in 2013. He only took 134 (less than 1 per game) in the first 3 years with Bron combined. Compare that to the 109 he took in his last 3 season in TOR.

Bosh's last 3 seasons in Toronto, he took 3448 shots...96 of those were 3's. That's 1 3pt attempt for every 36 shot attempts.

Bosh's first 3 seasons with LeBron, he took 2767 shots...134 of those were 3's. That's 1 3pt attempt every 21 shots.

He changed his game to fit in with LeBron's.

Bosh morphed because thats how he wanted to play. He said himself he wasn't about that banging in the paint life.

Thats because he got comfortable staying on the perimeter. He said it himself as you acknowledged. What I'm saying is if Kobe/Wade were surrounding him, I don't think he would've become accustomed to sitting on the perimeter in the 1st place. He would've stayed around the mid-range/low post area like in Toronto

I just want you to tell me what shooting 3s on offense has to do with where you are on defense? :dead: It's not like he was locking the paint and boards down before he started shooting 3s.

His lack of offensive rebounding is the problem. You know all rebounds ain't defensive breh.

Toronto Bosh grabbed 8.5% of all available offensive rebounds with his peak being 9.9% in 2010 and lowest being 7.1% in 2005.

Bosh playing next to LeBron only grabbed 6.0% of all available offensive rebounds with his peak being only 7.0% in 2013 and his low being 5.1% in 2014.

Toronto Bosh WORST season as an offensive rebounder was still better than Miami Bosh BEST season...you cant tell me him playing on the perimeter and shooting 3's didn't affect his game breh.

No. Lebron's defensive versatility, reboundingC and playmaking were pretty much vital those Heat seasons plus what would Kobe do when Wade or Bosh got injured like they did every year but the first year?

Kobe gonna play the 4 and try to guard Garnett? He gonna be efficient to make up for that lack of rebounding? You gonna have him guard David West?

Lebron anchored the Heat defense and was the fulcrum for our blitzing defense while Prime Kobe never had those responsibilities while also managing to be anywhere near as efficient which is what our entire offense was based off of.

5-2 vs 2-4

We never got to see prime Kobe in the finals unfortunately. From 05-07 when he was 26-28 years old, an nba players true peak, he was stuck carrying the likes of Kwame Brown, Luke Walton, and Smush Parker in the west.

Put 05-07 Kobe on those Heat teams and they win 70+ every year and win 4 straight finals in laughers.

There is no comparison between the gawd and perpetual finals choker Bron.

:mjlol: Kobe beat better Spurs teams by himself.

See 2008 western conference finals when he beat Duncan, Manu, and Tony when they were 6 years younger.

Bron lost to an over the hill Spurs squad.

Embarrassing.

Plus Pop wouldn't disrespect Kobe by putting fat ass Boris Diaw on him one on one. That's how you know how little he thought of Bron.
