Missed the game so I'm watching the replay. If Porzingis becomes the star we think he can be, he's going to add at least 3 extra years of productivity to Melo's career. How many times in years past did Melo have to force it and get pounded through an off night? Instead KP can handle the load and allow Melo to focus on other areas. And just wait until we get nights where they're both on fire. :wow:

I wanna throw a major money at Whiteside and hope it's too much for the Heat to match. The thought of a Whiteside/KP front court is just :wow:
Would absolutely love this.

Galloway, ?, Melo, Porzingis, Whiteside.

If we'd be able to get Batum also...wow. Although, I wouldn't know how that could happen with salaries.

How Did KP Rebound Poorly Overseas And In The NBA He's Grabbling Double Digit Boards? That's What Has Me Leery, Hoping He's Not Just Hitting A Good Stride

From what I read its basically due to the difference of style in leagues. In Spain's league players box out more on rebounds. In the US players tend to jump up and try to grab it more.

“I told him when you get in the NBA, if you are active, attacking the glass offensively, you can easily rebound in this league because nobody boxes out. That’s what he’s been doing. That’s why he’s getting a lot of offensive putbacks. Nobody boxes out — they just jump up. That’s why he’s doing very well at rebounding. He’s always staying active. He doesn’t stay still. And he’s hanging around the basket more than I’m used to seeing him.’’ - Audie Norris

Also to add to that he's playing with arguably the best box out Center in the league with RoLo who gets him even more space. Hell LMA became a better Rebounder too when he was playing with him as well. You could make an argument RoLo helped LMA overall as well by doing the grunt work that he is still doing next to KP.

Also if like yesterday they are doing a small ball lineup he's gonna have that advantage in height and be next to Melo who is arguably the best stretch 4 in the league. That is going to get defenders out the paint and gives KP even 1 on 1 opportunities to rebound. That's why the rebounds stats tend to be offensive RB's more than Defensive RB's.

Like I can't say this enough as much as KP's fast development has helped the knicks win games, the roster (and staff) of the knicks have helped KP develop faster. I don't think he could do what he is doing as quickly if he had been drafted by the Lakers or Philly.

Did Phil plan it this way idk, but if he did wow
