I dont think that's it. I'm hoping its a move just to appease the fanbase for a year bc we were going to be bad anyways. Getting Lopez off the books is a good thing provided we sit tight this year with the money. Rose will be gone next year anyways.

Couple things on this trade

Pros:
- only a year left on the deal. Calculated gamble
- maybe it helps sway KD here?
- not trading a future 1st in the deal (really weird feeling here with this)
- no more bum ass Calderon

Cons:
- Trading Lopez, who was on a very good contract and a good player

All in all, not too bad of a trade. At worst, you've accelerated the expiration of Lopez's contact from 3 years from now to next season. At best, you've got a PG who makes this offense run.
