I know MJ didn't write all of his songs. I never alluded to that.

I specifically stated writing to Steve Wonder, Marvin Gaye, R. Kelly.

I'm talking about MJ being a fraud as an artist. ie like a Millli Vanilli

Marvin Gaye sung plethora of songs not written by him and Stevie Wonder had co-writers. R. kelly I am not concrete on.

We can go further, Omillio Sparks threw Hov hooks too, didn't get credit for them. But he was in the studio with him, just vibing and throwing ideas out there. Does that take away from who Hov is as an artist? This is what people do all day in studios. Q-Tip changed half of the beats on The Infamous, from what Havoc had originally cooked up. But wasn't credited away from the ones he did entirely. Does that mean Havoc should be discredited? I get the point, but anyone who's ever spent time in a studio, knows this has been going on since the 80's. It's nothing new.

I personally think Drake is kinda corny. But let's not act like dude is unique in his approach here. This shyt has happening forever, with tons of our favorites. I'm wondering why everyone's so up in arms about this, but not all the other fake shyt that's been happening for mad years. They just don't like Drake. Period.

listening to this makes me sad for Hip Hop...aint shyt coming out that touches this...and im not even a huge B.I.G. fan.

I get it. I don't like it. I tried to rap about 7 or 8 years ago. And my bars are nice but my delivery needed work and my hook writing wasn't on point. So if I had that kinda help 1st I wouldn't have accepted it becuz I write my own shyt but if they helped me on the hooks I'd probably blown up too.

If it was just hooks that might be okay but you got people writing your verses that's some Dr. Dre, Jermaine Dupri, Puffy shyt. You just an entertainer you not a true emcee. And it kinda puts you in the category of them pop and r&b singers that have songwriters and shyt. That's another reason on why I'm big on writing my own shyt becuz those rock guys play instruments, pop and r&b singers had the nice voice but us hip hop nikkas wrote our own shyt. So it was 100% us. What we feeling, what we go through and what we seen.

I wish Meek's Wanna Know was harder or put together better but even tho Drake kept it hip hop and off twitter he ain't gon never be a GOAT in this game. He a borderline bytch guess that's why Meek said Puff almost caught that domestic when he slapped that bytch. Cuz he getting his raps wrote for him like the Queen bytch.

Truly speaking, a songwriter does the music and lyrics. A producer makes sure the record sounds great for consumption. Mere lyrics, a lyricist. Make just beats, a composer. Together = songwriter.

I am a fan of r&b > rap so my stance is the overall song and careless on how it gets there.

He might not get the writing gigs, but he's definitely gonna be able to get his career started as an artist now. Dude's been grinding forever. Doing group and solo work. Now everyone knows who he is. I'm sure his phone has been ringing crazy. This is a good look for him on that side.
