Jimmy Prime is a rapper from Toronto. Here's Drake crediting him for creating the nickname @4:48:

Also the caption for this pic

"I miss the 6!!! #Toronto #JimmyPrimeNamedIt #The6 #Home #SummerInToronto #Paradise"

Also, he's credited as a co-producer on "Now & Forever" with Eric Dingus. Jimmy has tons of songs himself produced by Eric Dingus and not one of them is co-produced by Jimmy. Just throwing that info out there :sas1:

Hate to repeat what has already been said......yet ppl seem to be forgetting that this wasn't as big of a secret as you think. He was credited, that alone will tell you that this wasn't a cover-up. If you listen to the songs, how much was used? Ppl are assuming it's the entire song because they get to press play.
If drake an em never put quinton miller on the song credits shyt would have been devestating
Meek had the flush and flushed it away with mediocrity
nikka could have won this and hes folding...ovo fest is this weekend and drake aint finna let up

If you think you're lonely now, ohhh girl...
Man, the main thing I've learned throughout this whole ordeal is Drake has an incredible amount of stans and groupies both male and female. Outside of an unsheathed penis being caught on camera or video near one of his orfices, I don't think anything can hurt his career. I've legit seen grown men refer to dude as Papi in the last week or so, and not one or two but several. I think I have every Drake album/mixtape besides Room for Improvement and Comeback Season. I even have the Slim K chopped and screwed joints, but you'd think dude was a musical prodigy on some young Stevie Wonder shyt how people cape for him. In terms of rap, what Drake is doing is a cardinal sin if you're out here boasting like you're the nicest in the game. Period.

The whole "feat quinton miller" was supposed to expose Drake...yet if the man is already listed in the credits, what is being exposed? Esp when it's only a few lines.

Do you agree on the following:

a) Miller is credited
b) There are only a handful of lines amongst all of the reference tracks combined

If you do agree on the above facts, which are facts. Then the cardinal sin might just be you assuming and not really getting the facts, because even your favourite rappers have been crediting other people..for decades.

But in other genres the "voice" is more like a melodic instrument while with
Rapping it's more Rhythmic and percussive. A person isn't necessarily "singing" when they rap.

True, drums are tuned but they aren't used in the way a flute or sax would
be used.

A singer through their own natural timbre and artistic flourishes can do a song very
different from the original while keeping it's spirit.

For example :

For the record I'm a singer and a rapper myself so I can see the differences.

So, singing is more difficult and prestigious compared to rapping so singers have the luxury to have help on putting out the best records possible. They have the privilege to cover songs. Rap and black people in general, contract our potential and opportunities. We can have an ecosystem of talented people making money but whatever. Those are the hip-hop rules. Rap about a bunch of far-fetched shyt, cool, but GOD forbid someone else or assist in those ducktales.

No the difference is, in rap the skill is your words and your delivery.

In singing your skill is your voice.

Anybody can take a rap reference track and Re-do it into something good.

Almost nobody can take a Mariah Carey song and sound remotely as good as her.

If someone is writing drakes music, I'd rather here it from that person. Especially when on 85% of dudes songs he's talking about how he's the realest nikka that did it all by himself.

You don't find any problem with that?

Nope! His words!?!? Idc because I am not invested in the nuts and bolts. Just don't present no whack ish to the public. I bet meek wrote that whack shyt he released all by himself so are you proud of that more than a record that sounds great with help? Help that puts money in another black man's pocket?
