Breh....what is wrong with you?
NONE of that shyt you're talking about has anything to do with reference tracks.
If Chuck D gave Cube reference tracks....actually never mind, it's too stupid to even entertain the thought.
Cube was giving reference tracks to Eazy. Drake is an Eazy-E, Dr. Dre, Lil Kim level rapper now.
Like I said, stop trying to muddy the waters. There's a very clear distinction between the discussion, and the examples you're giving.
Fred.
I get it, you don't like Drake. I don't either.
But you spoke about history. I've been around for a long time, so I can point out how the same shyt's been happening forever. That's all I'm saying. To sit here and act like this is some new shyt is corny. Anyone that's been listening to Hip Hop for a good 30 years knows this is the same shyt that's been poppin' forever. That's the point. It's not about who I like personally or any of that. But just speaking to what's actually been going on.
Chuck D is easily one of the GOAT's. Cube is too. Chuck wrote for Cube on arguably Cube's best album. This was 25 years ago. Dudes who know their shyt know this. Cube has no problem speaking on it. He gave Cube joints that he worked on for a group that was signed to PE. References. Cube took them and made classic shyt. So if we're really try'na talk history, we can. These are facts. That's my only point. That it's been happening since the very beginning.
