That being said, the fact that Drake isnt denying that these are reference tracks really settles it for me. Drake has lost all his credibility in my eyes as an artist.

1st off, the dude cllearly gave Drake the blueprint. It's not hard to change up lyrics, it's harder to develop the direction of what ur gonna say.
2ndly, who knows who else made changes on the track. Y'all ae just crediting Drake blindly.

Check interviews with Consequence, Rhymefest, Lupe, Malik Yusef, etc. Dudes have been writing songs for Kanye his whole career. Classics albums that I love. This was never some secret. Which is the point being made. Beats are one thing. I'm talking about lyrics. Kanye's said he's the one of the best MC's in the past 20 years. Top 5. But a majority of his records are joints he didn't write. That's the point.

Yeah none of them said they wrote songs for Kanye.

Cons was beefing with 'Ye and the most he could say is "I participated in writing with Kanye". If he had reference tracks to drop - he would but he didn't. Loads of demo versions from 808's leaked - none of them have Consequence or anyone on the vocals.

Lupe has 1 writing credit for Kanye and that's for Black Skinhead. And he certainly didn't write the song, he doesn't even know what it's about:
“I still don’t know what ‘Black Skinhead’ is about. It’s a lot of emotional, a lot of this, a lot of cliché, a lot of kinda stuff balled in together, and it’s just supposed to be presented as a package and you digest it.”

But we all knew Kanye had help with the bars but we don't expect hooks and verses from the same dude - literally referenced tracked for him. AND Kanye came in the game as a producer/rapper. The only reference track for Kanye we have is All Day and only 1 line used.

Drake is a songwriter but he has other people write him songs. So what does he do?
