People are so quick to throw rocks at this man...SIMPLY based on the fact that he ghost wrote for Drake and it was uncovered. A) How is that his fault B) How does it effect the way you hear his music?

He is talented, if you can't hear the talent in this song or feel it....I don't know what to say...stick to top 40 radio and log off this site, this is rap.

His brand is so powerful Because it's basic relatable shyt.

Every one goes through your avg basic life shyt & relationship problems. What "drake raps about". Not everyone is born into the struggle. I'm sure a lot of people in the hood could probably relate to a relationship type Drake song on some level, mean while most people in the burbs can't relate to a rapper who raps about street shyt or his experience living in the hood, growing up poor etc Drake's songs like 'Marvins Room' is basically just the "rap" version of Adeles Hello when it comes to the basic subject.
So Drake is the 50 Cent of beta males, correct? He's their patron saint. I didn't use to believe in that but now I do, judging by the current sociocultural climate.

But why drake?

Whats so captivating about Drake as a pop star?

In interviews, he comes off as a dweeb.

He's a subpar singer by pop standards.

Why is his brand so powerful?
If you remember the hype before Drake dropped his debut album it was all about marketability. Nobody said he was an amazing rapper or a super talented artist...the hype was that he made instant hit pop music and he had an image that could "crossover" immediately. The idea was that all he needed was the right songs and the right cosigns and he was a ready made superstar...and it worked

Absolutely wrong
So far gone was very good and he was the alternative to lil wayne for young money
Its also the main reason why no one else in ym blew up besides wayne nicki and drake. All three brought different elements of the game

Wrong about what? I never said So Far Gone was bad I said the early hype around Drake was about his marketability and crossover appeal more than anything else. So Far Gone was very much a part of that. It was a mixtape that sounded like a Top 40 pop album, we'd never seen that before.

Before Drake mix tapes were strictly for the "streets". He made a mixtape for teenage girls (and dudes who copped and claimed it was for their sister). That was his appeal...

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TOWN
this nikka is clearly the people's champ of novice rappers worldwide . The beat was lazy and his bars were audio herpes...I don't want it. Aubz gave him a bone (pause) and the nikka is making the best of it, unfortunately with bland bars and generic beats.

Sometimes I wonder it QM is mentally challenged. All he has to do is fix his voice, and drop a solid mixtape with a hit on it

Drake already paved the way for you QM. If you drop a quality project where you sound like drake, and have hits that the drake stans love (blessings,RICO, IYRTITL songs)

That would make the general public go :ohhh: ..... and have drake stans thinking :hula:

Isn't there a rapper that stole pac's style, his message, and pretends to be pac's messenger? If that dude can have a fan base, then QM can too. He wouldn't even need to copy drake, or try to follow in his footsteps.

QM seems to have forgotten that drake has been using his style for the past year, and has hooked the public on that style. The same fans that will say this at the drake ghost writing accusations " As long as drake makes good music, I don't care :yeshrug:", will be the same fans that say " As long as quentin sounds as good as drake, I will listen :yeshrug:"

It's all about production and polish.

Drake is well produced, performance trained and polished is all.

Given the same energy behind him who knows what Quentin would sound like.

His voice is trash though, lol.But lyrics are tight.
nah as I said it all boils down to him seeing the success Drake had with that lazy flow & thinking he could blow with it. Somebody ask him to post full versions on Twitter. :noah:
