Me too. It actually took me out of the show when I noticed. It was just a British sci-fi show. The English accents all thru star wars already bothered me but that was final straw status

It’s a Black American story. It should be told from the perspective of black American actors.

It doesn’t have to be that way for all films but as a cinematic purist the way QT is, it’s no surprise he didn’t pick him.

So was The Wire and a lot of the key cast members weren't American.

It's acting. You just need to act the part not be the part. Half the time the audience doesn't even know the person in the role is a Brit because they're believable in character.
