I don't see how Idris could have possibly done a better job than Jamie at that role, he made the right call.

By not being Jamie Foxx for one.

Im not sure if it was his acting, because his acting ranges from horrible to Oscar worthy for some strange reason. But I had a reason I didnt like him in Django that much.

Will smith turned down some major roles in his time, but a quentin tarentino movie should be a layup. Dude must have a terrible agent or he doesn't actually watch movies himself to know what films have been popular in the realm of pop culture.
He probably thought the movie was demeaning/disrespectful.

My last ex hated this movie. :manny:

He cares too much about being clean cut which is the opposite of Tarantino. Nothing more.

He’s right :manny:

It’s a Black American story. It should be told from the perspective of black American actors.

It doesn’t have to be that way for all films but as a cinematic purist the way QT is, it’s no surprise he didn’t pick him.

So was The Wire and a lot of the key cast members weren't American.

It's acting. You just need to act the part not be the part. Half the time the audience doesn't even know the person in the role is a Brit because they're believable in character.

He's FOS, English actors can switch into an American or Canadian accent on a dime.

What don't people like you understand about him just doing regular generic accents???

Idris woulda been up there with his default Brooklyn accent ridin around the Deep South as newly freed slave:dead:

Reminds me of the other thread we had on him where Idris got exposed as being full of shyt lol

Have you seen a black Non-American imitate an Atlanta accent or a New Orleans accent bruh?

:comeon:

That lie that British actors can just play any ol Black American needs to stop. There's never been a British actor in the history of this planet that has ever pulled off those accents
